The 136th session of the China Import and Export Fair (#CantonFair) kicked off today in Guangzhou. The exhibition will cover a total area of 1.55 million square meters, with 74,000 booths, 55 exhibition areas and 171 special areas, attracting 30,000 exhibitors and will close on 4 November. Launched in 1957, the Canton Fair is considered a major gauge of China's foreign trade.
Currently, based on indicators such as overseas buyer pre-registrations, hotel bookings, and flight reservation rates, the 136th Canton Fair is expected to see an increase in global purchasers.

As a concrete measure to respond the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, the China-Zimbabwe Stone Sculpture Exhibition speaks volumes about how both heads of state value our culture on the pathway towards modernization. President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa@edmnangagwa wrapped up his visit in Jiangsu Province after a retrospect tour at the Army Command College of CPLA where he undertook training in 1960s, a visit at the NARI Group Corporation which is China’s largest supplier of electric power equipment, and a cordial meeting with the Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPC. His Excellency's visit in Jiangsu is a successful combination of the revolutionary history, new outlook of development and our traditional friendship.

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa @edmnangagwa has arrived in Beijing for a state visit and the 2024 Summit of FOCAC, the largest diplomatic gathering hosted by China in years attended by over 50 Heads of State from Africa. Ambassador Zhou Ding joined Hon. Daniel Garwe, Minister of Local Government and Public Works @MoLGPWZim, and Hon. Dr Appolonia Munzverengwi, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East in launching the China-aid 300 Boreholes Drilling Project @aperionzhj on July 22.
Ambassador Zhou underscored that as Zimbabwe’s all weather friend, China quickly responded to H.E. President Mnangagwa's call by providing emergency food assistance and implementing the 300 boreholes drilling project to cope with the drought issue and food crisis.
Minister Garwe and Minister Munzverengwi expressed gratitude to China’s timely assistance and said the Borehole Drilling Project was a symbol of cooperation, compassion and the unwavering support from China.
Over the past ten years, China has drilled more than 1,000 boreholes across Zimbabwe, providing easy access to clean water and agricultural irrigation for about 400,000 people.

We celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the airport radar station with Mr. Felix Mhona(Minister of Transport), and CAAZ Director General Engineer Mr. Elisha Chingosho in attendance. This new radar system is set to improve air traffic control and enhanced safety.

Big news from our construction crew: the R.G. Mugabe Int Airport's satellite fire station is now officially up and running! We've wrapped up the construction and are geared to level up airport security and emergency response.
