@cityoftoronto This red paint is so harsh and unappealing. Totally support transit but do not support making Toronto streets more ugly. Could there not be signage or other lane markings instead of this ghastly paint? Added to the graffiti and litter, this will be more visual pollution.
Hi @TTChelps - why is this streetcar shelter at Dufferin & College in the middle of the sidewalk? Pedestrians have to walk single file to get past, and it’s tight for people with mobility devices or strollers. Could the shelter be moved closer to the curb?
Last night insane traffic congestion by the Ex and along Lakeshore when Medieval Times, Argos game and amphitheatre concert all got out at the same time. @oliviachow@cityoftoronto maybe staggering event times would be something to consider?
“The banks of the Seine used to be a 2-lane expressway for cars. Today it is a footpath, bike path, park, playground, sunbathing area, café and venue for a table football tournament. It’s wonderful that the Parisians are taking back their city & revitalizing public space.” #Paris
@jen_keesmaat Yes we need this on Dufferin too. It’s viewed too much as a utilitarian passage we need to reimagine to revitalize this part of the city and stop the high speed traffic.
I have posted this before but ..
26 years ago, a gunman entered
Dunblane Primary School in Scotland,
killing 16 kids and a teacher. The UK
govt responded by enacting tight gun
control legislation. In the 9400+ days
since, there have been a total of O
school shootings in the UK.
Ahem, Toronto. If you are a Toronto politician, and you know this to be factually true but are unwilling to lead because, well, you might not get on a key committee if you do, you need to give your head a shake and ask why you are in politics in the first place. No city in the world is rebuilding expressways. They destroy cities.
Agree with Premier we should learn from other provinces.
Saskatchewan invested in for-profit MRI & we are about to do the same thing in ON.
Outcome in Saskatchewan was that # of people on wait lists doubled in 4 yrs. Why r we following this failure?

This is a photo from when Ontario stood up to Doug Ford about bill 28. He originally dug in his heels, but Ontario pushed back so loudly that Ford had to rescind that bill.
We must do the same with Ford’s plans to privatize our public healthcare system!
Be LOUD Ontario!
Everyone needs to listen to this awful account of a 2 year old infant who drew its last breath on the floor of the ER at Lakeridge. As told by a nurse who is angry and traumatized. Who wouldn't be? Those poor parents.
The verdict is in: A 4-day work week is good for business.
After 6 months, most of the 33 companies and 903 workers trialling the schedule, with no reduction in pay, are unlikely ever to go back to a standard working week.

🙌 THE 4 DAY WORK WEEK HAS HIT IRELAND WITH ASTONISHING RESULTS. 🙌
The Irish Findings are as follows:
• 100% of the companies involved are continuing with the 4-Day work week ➡
• 85% of companies which reported data on revenue reported growth in revenue 📈 (1/X)
@RE_MarketWatch I live in the city and work downtown. On a good day commute takes 25 mins on transit, which is great. Sadly, doe to traffic and construction, it often takes 45 mins to an hour. That’s what gets me down.
Families of Ontario, would you rather receive $200 per child or have your child's school get $200 per student? Imagine what $100,000 could do for a school with 500 students. #onted
@AshleyGWinter You will be soooo tired with a newborn that having another being that could potentially wake you up in your rare moments of sleep is not worth it IMO. Mother of three humans, zero pets.
Much of Loblaws profit comes from Shoppers Drug Mart. Here’s a gouge that has little to do w inflation: A small tube of Polysporin last year was 8 dollars. Last night it was 17. Yes I’m serious. That doubling isn’t a supply chain/gas issue. It’s a gouge https://t.co/hwyL8JI5js
Are we ever going to acknowledge that there actually isn't an inflationary crisis, but a greed driven crisis instead? Loblaws posting 40% profit increase over last year says it all.
