At the Memphis airport watching the news about troops being deployed to the Middle East. I turned to see 6 people in army fatigues watching behind me. They must be 19-20 and I assume they are heading to the ME. Hits differently when you look in their faces. #GodBlessOurTroops

Too many young teachers are leaving the profession. In your schools which teachers are assigned the ‘general’ or low level classes? Who teaches Advanced Placement courses? Who is assigned to key school committees? A GOOD mentor for 3 years? How do YOU make them feel wanted?

Some things go way deeper than what we can control as educators #realtalk

The lack of clarity plagues school districts across America. Without a clearly defined AND agreed upon purpose, schools end up serving adults—not children. Who is asking why our children cannot read and who is taking purposeful steps to correct the problem?

A surge of border crossings is expected this weekend.

So I’ll shut down all border crossings on the Red River for 72 hours beginning Thursday Oct. 10th.

When you and your team teacher @denine8 are rocking community building and the importance of communication, good stuff happens between the classes. 💕 #smcisd
