@OpinionsWelcom2 @Joe_Trinder *language used as a weapon against the Māori. The treaty they signed guaranteed their sovereignty. The wording was changed for the English version.
@OpinionsWelcom2 @Joe_Trinder You need to first understand the treaty that led to this and how language was used as a weapon. The intent as understood by Māori cannot be asserted in English. Language is the point. An essential one.
@v8mile We need to have a serious conversation about the radicalization of our parents and peers, and young cis men. It is a very real thing. I don’t get all the gaslighters in here. Almost like lived experience is more valid than assumptions based on a tweet from a stranger.
Ss @SJV_TCDSB have started their year with a focus on Indigenous education. Grade 3s read “When I was Eight” by @CJordanFenton and wrote reflections. “Now I understand….” @Equity_TCDSB
@teresastrasser Happened to my son. Went to ice rink. Whole class invited. No one showed. A mom at the rink noticed and added her kids to the party, even ran out for presents. Fire dept heard and came and picked my son up for a ride in the fire truck. So much kindness ❤️Was still devastating.
@dieworkwear You fill in for dads all the time though. As a single mom I followed your posts for several months, then took the knowledge to dozens of thrift stores to find my son the perfect prom attire. Was able to put together a small wardrobe too, and give some guidance thanks to you 🙏
@F_Botha_USA @madisontayt_ Not sure how much has changed but when I was a server in SA got paid a token fee per shift and fined for everything. Basically only made tips. A big table for a shift w/ no tip and a fine for something like needing a correction for pressing a wrong POSbutton and you paid to work.
@timmckay52 I think too many people have too much time on their hands to create intricate rules. IMHO voice is what truly matters. Develop and cultivate voice then stay consistent. Show don’t tell is wonderful in general theory but it is on a runaway these days.
