@GreenTexanEV I have a Tesla, a Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid, and a 1965 Mustang. Going fully electric, for me, I do not believe is the best idea.
Will I ever go back to stirckly gas powered vehicles, probably not. Altough the Mustang is loud and fun.
For the speed profiles, those work for the most part.
Give me the personality of speed profile, but allow me to set a max speed over the speed limit. Not a percentage, a max speed. I don't need the car doing 55 in a 35 or 82 in a 65. Five/six miles per hour over the speed limit is enough for me, just let me set that.
Those are all valid reasons to disengage. I would recommend everyone do the same instead of manipulating your FSD streak.
Parking is the biggest issue for me. The car never pulls into the garage. The one time it did, my wife's car was not in the garage, but the car parked on the wrong side away from the charger.
For parking lots, let me choose on the map an area to park in. Give me three or four different options. When I select an option, park in that area. I never like where the car decides to park.
Speed bumps are much better, but i still have to disengage. I have a Model 3 Performance and it's low to the ground. Most times I also have to put the suspension in Sport so the car does not rub on speed bumps.
We have a lot of road dips. Those can be found at some intersections and help channel water to storm drains. These are much much worse than a speed bump. The car does not detect these at all and acts like the road is flat. If you want to constantly have to get an alignment or a new rim, let the car drive through those normally.
Got v14.3.3 today. Had my first two drives with it, the drive I take almost daily FSD to the gym and then back home.
The only thing on the way to the gym that was an issue was the beginning and the end. It struggled backing out of my driveway, but took forever. Then it wanted to park where I did not want it to, so I had to interevene. No big deals there, more of an annoyance than anything else.
The way back home had problems. This is the exact same route to the gym, just reversed, and I take this route almost daily with FSD. The first intervention happened right out of the parking lot. I set the navigation to go left out of the parking lot, the car wanted to go right. I got on the higway and that is where the main problems were. I was behind to semi's going the same speed in both lanes. The car wanted to pass, but couldn't because neither truck would speed up or slow down. The car decided to weave back and forth behind moth trucks. I intervened the second time it tried to do that. Finally the truck in the left lane decided to speed up, I turned FSD on, my car followed. Then my car moved to the right lane immediately after I passed the truck on the right lane, and it wanted to pass the truck in the left lane. I could tell that the truck in the left lane was going to move over to the right lane, so I intervened to slow down to allow the truck to move over. I manually passed the truck in the left lane and then moved the car over into the right lane. With my exit coming up, I turned FSD back on. I am within a half mile of the exit, and the car will not get into the exit lane. It has never done that before. I waited to see if it would do anything, it did not. Navigation was correct, just the car would not move over to the exit lane. I intervened so I could take the exit. After the exit, the next issues I had were when i clicked on the turn signal to change lanes, it would not change lanes. There were no vehicles around, tried again, the car would not change lanes. I intervened to change lanes. Come up to a stop light and turn FSD back on. After the light turns green, the car wanted to go back into the right lane. That right lane was ending in 200 feet. Again, there are no other vehicles around me. I intervened again to keep the car in the lane that it needed to be in. Then when getting home, it would not park in the garage. Not that I expected that because it never does, but I had to intervene so I could park the car in the garage.
Summon did something that I have never had it do before, the car stopped in the middle of a parking lot. Just stopped while coming to pick me up. I could not get it to move nor would it re-engage with that app. I had to run over to the car because it was holding other people up.
This has never happened before. I just got the new v14.3.3 update today.
I have a double garage, when navagating home on FSD, the car will not pull into the garage. I park on the left side of my garage because that is where my charger is. The car always pulls into the right side of the driveway. I have to intervene every single time just so I can park in the garage. The car has only once ever pulled into the garage, that was on 13.2.8, and there was not another car in the garage. It also pulled into the middle of the garage, not where it needed to be.
Just yesterday, I set navigation to go to a friends house less than a mile down the road. The car is set to go right directly off my driveway. Navigation shows going to the right. As soon as my car gets to the end of the driveway, the car changes navigation to go left. Going left changes the distance from .5 miles to 2.5 miles. So yeah, I have to intervene to go the correct route.
Congrats on that, I guess
First off, I don't have that update so I wouldn't know.
Second, I park my car in a garage, the car will not go in the garage while on FSD. That means every single time I set the car for home, I am forced to disengage just so I can park the car in the garage
Third, when I use FSD to go any place with a parking lot, it will not park where I want it to, so I am forced to disengage to park where I want to
Fourth, let's be honest here, navigation is a problem and causes most disengagements. Yeah, it can get you where you need to, but in my experience, not in the best or most efficient way
