The Passing of the Bat is a symbolic torch passing celebrating the past, present and future contributions of African American baseball players.

This year's recipients were U of D Jesuit graduate Dylan Larkins and Edison graduate Marwynn Matthews. Larkins is committed to play college baseball at Georgetown, while Matthews will play at Western Michigan.
