@wondermeg_ Oh just wait, it gets worse with the criterion sale coming up pretty soon. That's the problem with collecting physical media, makes every move so much harder.
@wondermeg_@A24 Oh yeah. Might be my favorite film of the year so far. Too be fair, I've only seen 4. But overall good quality ones. With Crime 101, How to Make a Killing, Scream 7 (weakest, but still like it) and this.
39 years today. I cannot explain or even give anything original words anymore. We can never know what would have happened, how many more lives you could have touched personally. But you have on many personally and beyond through art. Enjoy your rest a little more today.
@SnixxGifts@pjay413 Crazy, so many ways to have close calls on the road. Sorry to hear about this recent experience. Hope you feel better soon and hope the year starts better for you.
@stevendeknight That's something that has worked though every time there's a recast in either show. Here, well, it's a different timeline so there's a reason. Navea became someone different after the mines. And the man he was before being Spartacus died. Stretches to be sure, but they work.
@stevendeknight As someone who just saw the first two episodes, it really is the same show, just a little different with a higher budget than the first few seasons. It's like it would have been a decade ago.
@stevendeknight For certain, those are different from the rest. But on rewatches, those episodes are so character rich that the comic style and visual effects don't matter. I know you've said this since the commentaries, I just want to defend those episodes a bit.
@GarrettWareing@jointhelongwalk@Lionsgate Excellent film. Both Stephen King adaptations this year have been great. The violence is brutal and never gratuitous. At it's core, another film of finding hope in a cruel world where Nighlism and Cynicism are easy and understandable. How capitalism grinds everyone to death.
@wondermeg_ Oh yeah, even writing reviews on Letterboxd, you can pick up more details when you write them. I had that with 'The Roses' and 'Life of Chuck' in particular.
@wondermeg_ I too live in Michigan:
Batman v Superman: just watched this again last week and I even work at the place the meeting between Clark and Bruce was shot.
Scream 4
Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas
Die Hard 2
@SnixxGifts Why should it be worth an unfollow. Look, we all miss and she means a lot to us. But it's her child. I actually thought about it more after Malcom- Jamal Warner's death. So similar in situations.
@stevendeknight Oh, I wouldn't worry about about the target audience. Because of the people that found the original show organically in the past 15 years are on board, as this has always been in the DNA. There's certain people who don't need to be in a healthy fanbase.
@wondermeg_ I watched Accountant 2 last night. I enjoyed it, more so than the first one. Because it does take more time for character moments. The first one is still fine to good, just a little more reliant on the story. Neither story is great, the strengths are the characters and cast.
@FunMovieTVFan Mission Impossible 3. The standout villain of the series for me, thanks to the opening between him and Cruise. Doubt is also a very close second.
@butterfly4naya@pjay413@NayaRivera Hey Claire, it's been so long. Sorry I changed my number a few months ago. But I really hope you are well. Way too much to catch up on, but if you have any time, I'd love to hear from you. But if just this, I really wish you the best.
@wondermeg_ It very well might be my favorite performance of his. His top 3 for me are: Nightcrawler, Zodiac and Prisoners. I saw them in that order, so that probably helps. But there's no denying he was robbed of an Oscar that year.
@bartonovopolis Oh I saw 2 and 3 back in 2020. After that, I can say that while the first is the best on its own. I think World's End might be my favorite. But it's really close. Underrated as a trilogy, one of my favorites.
@wondermeg_ Oh, I'm going to see Edington as well. First film in theaters since Life of Chuck. August has a lot I'm looking forward to though. July just hasn't been that for me.
