On this International Women’s Day, I’d like to take this opportunity to talk to you about something.

I’ve discovered something incredible about Alba (Larsen)

At the age of 15, Alba set up Girls International Racing Lab, a community aimed at helping young girls discover motorsport. Through this community, Alba organises events such as go-karting sessions, meet-ups….

By organising races, meet-ups and mentoring sessions with Alba and other role models, the initiative has already engaged over 400 girls and young women in Denmark alone & Alba’s goal for this year is to reach 15,000 girls around the world.

In 2025, Alba received the FIA Women in Motorsport Award, as they recognised the impact G.I.R.L. was already having and the pathway it was starting to open up for young girls looking at racing for the first time

Charles : « I really hope [to keep it up for qualifying], but I also believe that the others will start pushing a bit more their cars as they always do come in quali, and so it's going to be tough, because it's been a very clean Friday on my side. Charles : « The feelings were good, really good, but, as I said yesterday, there isn’t as much of a gain [from this package] as I’ve heard and read some people saying. They are small improvements, but they are still improvements that we’ve been able to see on the car. It doesn’t feel radically different; it’s a small step forward. I also think we started the weekend on the right foot, finding a good balance straight away, and I think that’s probably the most positive aspect of this Friday.

The wind was so strong today that, precisely in the corners where the track limits were more difficult to respect, the wind was also pushing us towards the outside. This made everything very complicated, because it only took a small lock-up to lose the racing line, and at that point it became impossible to stay within the track limits. More than anything, it was the way the wind was blowing that made the situation particularly demanding and very difficult to manage while staying within the track limits. »
