@youthdriven @stu_voice@PCStuVoiceTeam@Brasof@docdana @MilestoneDemSch is, perhaps, a notable exception. Youth have been equal designers of the school in a consensus process from the beginning
@jal_mehta Do any of them want to Skype into the next meeting of the Youth Design Team for @MilestoneDemSch to share their work and visions with us?
We are literally building the school of our future...
We still have two openings! Please share with networks and RT! Bilingual paraprofessional and Special Education Paraprofessional (great opportunity for recent college grads. Benefits included!) https://t.co/zsyVFiXXT2
@aasewell @AmandaLewisPhD @K_Santellano @JonathanMetzl Is there a structural competency training framework out there for educators (as in, k-12 teachers, not premed instructors)? This is new territory for us, but VERY intriguing... we'd love any suggestions/links you might be able to share!
Come join our collective! We’re hiring an ELL paraprofessional. Please share with friends & family & your networks! More info found here! https://t.co/0sSoaLk5lD
@nmcclenn@tetonscience Amazing! We're doing something similar as youth co-design a new public secondary school for Madison, WI. Check out the "Possibility Statement" we wrote together...
Useful discussion of terms... though @Teach4aLiving might argue w the placement of PD on the ladder...

It's very high! Especially if you consider waking hours. Think about Malcom Gladwell's 10,000 hours to become an expert. In school, students are becoming "experts" in a way of being in the world and with each other. We should hope this is prosocial, prodemocratic, and healthy.
@profjohnapowell delivering a GREAT opening keynote at #beyonddesegregation looking forward to diving into the Bridging and Breaking work: https://t.co/3nT7yDnng8 want to bring this into the school space to address anxiety of the other.
"...when students do not see authority as legitimate, they are more likely
to disregard school rules" So painfully true. Love the idea of Youth Court for Milestone Democratic-but we'll see what the Youth Design Team thinks! After all, democracy is the source of legitimacy...
