He is just absolutely ( covered ) in mud.

The water washes ( most ) of the mud away. Not all of it, but it’s enough.

@CT__2323 There was a couple of times where Mayday almost stumbled over, but he did his best to stay upright as the water washed away the mud from his armor.

Mayday considers the other, a bit unsure at first, but he finally concedes, beginning to take off his armor.

“That’s uh—That’s kind of you, thank you. You don’t have to.”

@CT__2323 “Yeah, count my blessings I guess. I just was not expecting ( this ) much mud.”

Upon Pointer’s warning, Mayday does his best to plant his feet firmly so he doesn’t get knocked over. Mayday gives a thumbs up, giving the other the go-ahead.

@CT__2323 Mayday sighs, shaking his head just out of pure embarrassment.

“More so I took one wrong step and rolled down a hill right into a muddy pit.”

@CT__2323 Mayday followed Pointer down to the hangar. He was practically tracking mud through the halls, it would certainly be a long clean-up for the droids.

“Thanks for uh—helpin’ me out.”

@CT__2323 His shoulders slump in defeat.

“I suppose you’re right. That’s all one can do,” Mayday nods, “They just deserve a whole lot better than…than this.”

The commander gestures vaguely.

Mayday waits a beat, considering for another long moment if he should say anything. But he relents, there’s no point in bottling this all up.

“Well—if you insist,” Mayday hums, relaxing further, “I just…missions are getting harder and harder lately. Which of course

A small smile presents itself upon her lips, slowly and cautiously she moves herself to take a seat near him; leaving a respectful amount of space.

"It's no problem, really."

The Lieutenant moves her hand up to gently tuck back a loose strand of her hair back behind her ear.

@TragediesFinest Mayday is attentive to the other’s words, taking in the advice that he so desperately needed clearly.

It felt so odd to discuss this with someone he hardly knew, hells, just to ( anyone ) really. But it was oddly comforting in a way. Bonds can be built in all sorts of ways.

Mayday glances over her, slightly hesitant. Though there was a hint of relief from him, shown through his shoulders loosening up.

“That is…a kind offer, thank you. I would hate to bother you with all this, though.”

Valaris allowed her hues to skim over the commander, nodding in understanding. Slight concern in her tone.

A sigh leaves the commander, his foot tapping ceasing, barely.
