Official Twitter account of the Columbia Law School Centrists for the Status Quo! Taking the EXACT median position on every issue––no matter what the sides are!
Spiritually, you never say “I’m getting back to my left” or “I’m getting back to my right.”
You say “I’m getting back to my center.” We think this applies to law just as well.
The Columbia Law Centrists for the Status Quo wholeheartedly endorse @JoeBiden in the proposition that if Donald Trump has done a thing, we should be able to do it, too.
It's National Vote By Mail Day. Voting by mail is easy and safe. Take a few minutes to request your vote-by-mail ballot, then get your family and friends to do the same. Request your ballot early, send it back early, and fill it out carefully. Get started: https://t.co/pmWQqs4PbB
We are pleased to share a campus with excellent student leaders—no matter what kind of organization they lead or what sort of hypocrisy or unwarranted career advancement they stand for!
PELOSI: “I yearn for other Republican presidents. While we may disagree on many points, at least we had a shared commitment to the governance of our country."
@Siobhan_julia This is borderline slanderous, Siobhan_julia. Your assumptions likely don’t even account for *median* net wealth. We 👏 want 👏 our 👏 girlbosses 👏 to 👏 be 👏 analytical.
Please issue a formal clarification and apology.
Ideally, every law would be struck down at least once (and ruled non-severable). It should be a rite of passage, like high school. If our country's kids have to prove their mettle by weathering puberty and lunchroom taunts--well, our laws should, too.
We, the Columbia Law Centrists, have decided our formal position on all TRO motions: They are bad, because they can change the status quo, but also good, because they can restore the status quo. Merits are irrelevant. We will not be taking questions at this time.
As we consider Chief Justice Roberts' pivotal role on the Court, it strikes us that this may be exactly what the Founders, wise beyond their times, wanted: One man, with an impenetrable mind, determining the fate of millions with the stroke of a pen.
In other words: Democracy.
#Biden2020Landslide is trending, but we believe the most equitable outcome in November would be a closely contested race won by just a few electoral votes.
If it requires a recount, so be it! Democracy depends on balance.
It’s #ModerateMonday, so here’s a quick lesson in sane centrist politics! The political continuum is like a horseshoe—the far right and far left are closer to each other than to the center.
(And like horseshoes, politics can be a fun, easy game to play at those summer BBQs!)
We've seen so many people "dunk" on this worldwide metro system--but the free market is, historically, the greatest driver of social justice for ALL people, and if the market decides it wants one metro line in the entire continent of Africa, well, we should listen.
Chief Justice Roberts's HEROIC actions today must be met with the unquestioning praise they deserve! Chalk up another win for centrism and bipartisanship--don't forget, he was W.'s appointee! #SCOTUS#DACA
Today reminds us that progress might be slow. It might take decades. But no matter what things might look like today, it’s always possible. Happy Pride month, everybody.
