Cash App misled its customers and made scamming them easy.
They told users their money was safe and protected like it would be at a bank.
It wasn't.
For years, there wasn't even a phone number to call, so people searching for help often ended up calling fake support lines run by scammers.
Today, we're announcing that they'll be paying up to $165 million, with most of the money going directly back to consumers.
They also must make major changes to how they operate.
They have to create new defenses to fraud to keep their users safe, reimburse users who are victims of fraud, and - finally - open live customer support 24 hours a day.
If you use Cash App and were a victim of fraud, watch for the consumer payment process. I'll share details soon.

@LifeIsGr8M8@AdmiralBear01 Imaginary and constantly shifting? Like the line of scrimmage and line to gain?
Many American football games have been decided based on a determination of whether the ball crossed an imaginary line.
But being able to make that determination with precision is a bad thing?
"These receivers can't get out of the way of hurting the team. Too many times at the end of the game."
