@alliebopeep Howdy @alliebopeep! This women's urinal remains in the Memorial Student Center as a piece of Texas A&M's history. Check out the plaque, conveniently located above the urinal, for more fun and exciting facts!
Standardized tests have no place in elementary education. Because testing becomes the focus of education instead of learning. We take away the fun and excitement of learning, playing, exploring, & creating. We create test takers instead of problem solvers and innovators.
@StacyLynn624@MarkMcCaig@HicklandHillary I am terribly sorry that you had a rough experience. I am going to step away from this conversation and I wish you a blessed Easter.
@StacyLynn624@MarkMcCaig@HicklandHillary All new teachers have to pass the science of reading certification test. K-3rd teachers had to go through a science of reading academy. I am a reading specialist and was required to take it too.
@StacyLynn624@MarkMcCaig@HicklandHillary Very sorry to hear this. I have been a public educator for 28 years and have seen all. We are entitled to our own opinion. I think the is better way to address it then calling our kids “captives”. Most issues were created by the state and they refuse to fix it.
Standardized tests companies are like Big Pharma—they want you to believe they’re working on a cure, but if they actually fixed the problem, they'd be out of business. It's all smoke and mirrors, with the masses believing the illusion.
@GregAbbott_TX People need to research what this involves. A school district must apply for this and then there is a process in order for a teacher to even qualify. I know very effective teachers that have not benefited from this.
Teachers are told to differentiate for every student. Expecting one teacher to meet 30+ unique needs every day in every class is unrealistic. Support, resources, and reasonable expectations matter just as much as differentiation. Only to then judge them on standardized test!
