@Jacob_Frey We had the votes for that site during the previous council (so it was not opposed), but the owner backed out hours before the vote due to threats. Prior to that, it was delayed one cycle because CM Gordon wanted time for a community meeting to get input from nearby residents.
@WentRogue @JChavezMpls @MplsWard11 38th & Hiawatha site is available. Most accessible, centrally located, and the community spaces being promised would get a lot more use.
@quick13 The community gets an urban farm with the amended MOU, demolition doesn't pollute the neighborhood, and the amended MOU offsets vehicle emissions and accelerates EV conversion among other benefits. https://t.co/TaFDDA5DD9
@EMacNally78 @ek_31_ And no, you don't need to bring your kids to work, given that I authored paid safe and sick leave that covers school closures for the more than 100k workers in Minneapolis. So you can stay home to watch your kids and aren't put in impossible situations.
@ek_31_ I asked leadership to move it to Monday, particularly out of respect for all the city staff who were also in a similar childcare situation, but they decided to proceed with the meeting.
@OurStreetsMpls@MplsWard12@CityMinneapolis That is not true. Does your organization even vet information before you post it? Because you were on an email thread with me today but didn't bother to ask what's going on with this item which I already committed to having on the next cycle's agenda.
