Palestinians suffer tear gas inhalation amid pogroms near Nablus https://t.co/C4kQ34Jje1 via @AJEnglish - interesting that @AJEnglish is now using the term “pogrom” to describe settler attacks & IDF raids. Cc: @AssalRad
The corruption in the second term of the Trump presidency -- profiteering off public power to enrich not just himself but his kids and their spouses with billions of new wealth -- is unlike anything seen before by any American president in scope or shamelessness.
NEW ANALYSIS —
In Gaza, Israel’s ongoing destruction during the so-called ceasefire is desecrating the bodies of Palestinians which remain beneath the rubble.
Our analysis of videos and satellite imagery finds military practices of demolition, compaction and removal of rubble. These risk making the recovery of Palestinian remains impossible in the 65% of Gaza under Israel’s control.
The Guardian responds the IDF's Official Reaction to NAZA:
“The IDF's attempt to portray the 24 participants in NAZA as junior-ranking officers involved only in the early stages of the targeting process is false. They include officers and soldiers who were involved in multiple stages of the targeting process in Gaza, including intelligence, operations and the final authorisation process.
“The process of assessing the credibility of the testimonies was rigorous. It included leaked classified documents, detailed verification of specific strikes and corroboration via a wider pool of confidential journalistic sources who did not appear on camera in the film.
“Over the past three years we have together interviewed more than 100 sources familiar with IDF systems used in the war in Gaza, including senior-ranking commanders directly involved in the authorisation of strikes.
“The Guardian stands fully behind the film, which builds on three years of detailed reporting by the Guardian and our partners. Several highly respected news organisations have subsequently confirmed the IDF’s use of AI-driven systems in the Gaza offensive and the loosening of safeguards to protect civilians, including the New York Times, Washington Post and Associated Press."

The consequences of turning #Gaza into a ghetto extend beyond the constant threat of death, striking at the heart of its economic and social structure and undermining the foundations of human stability

UNLAWFUL ARREST
On Sunday, police forcefully detained and handcuffed a young man under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act. They stripped him of clothing while dragging him across the floor.
He had not committed any crime.
From 2023 to 2026, Google Earth's updated satellite imagery shows what's left of Gaza.
The images reflect what Human Rights Watch has already found: Israel has caused deliberate, widespread destruction throughout Gaza ⤵️
@MiddleEastEye I guess this also explains why Israelis have left in record numbers. As of Jan. 2026, over 150,000 citizens had left the country in just the previous two years — many of them with a one-way ticket and no plans of returning.

An interesting information from the convo : in the process of the making the film and writing his investigations for +972/Local Call and the Guardian, Yuval Abraham has spoken to around 100 confidential sources.
Oh Jesus Jesus.
I watched NAZA.

This is amazing. The single most comprehensive register of investors, profiteers and legacies left by those that took part in Britains enslavement of African people. The level of research that must have gone into this is mind blowing.

I have yet to watch #NAZA, so I will confine myself to a matter on which I do have some expertise: the law of armed conflict, and targeting in particular.
Israel’s Manual on the Laws of War remains a closely guarded secret. But this much can responsibly be said: among @NATO states, it is difficult to identify rules so permissive, or a targeting methodology so defective in practice, as to produce, with such regularity, attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure that raise questions of necessity, distinction, proportionality and precaution.
One need not rely on outside critics. Consider what Israel’s own Military Advocate General wrote to senior commanders in February 2024:
“We have encountered breaches of orders and norms”, including “the use of force not justified by military necessity”, pillage, and “the destruction of civilian property against orders”.
Her conclusion was more important still: these were not merely disciplinary matters. Some “cross from disciplinary infractions into criminality”.
That is where any serious legal assessment must begin.
