We mourn those we have lost and honor the memory of the trans leaders of the LGBTQ+ liberation movement who gave everything to free queer people from oppression.

Every day, but especially on #TransDayOfRemembrance, our office stands in complete solidarity with our trans and gender non-conforming siblings. ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธโโค๏ธ
Our offices strongly condemn transphobia and will continue to monitor the situation as we stand with and defend our trans community members ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ๐ค

Beloved, long-time Berkeley community member Ben Brown was the pedestrian killed on Rose Street.
Please consider donating to this GoFundMe to help his family with funeral expenses and travel.

This was preventable. We need to do much more to make our streets safer for everyone.
Thanks to Measure FF, we will now have the resources to fund the infrastructure that prevents such tragic deaths. My colleagues and I must find the political courage to make it happen.
โRose Street was repaved late last year, and Fry said it should have also gotten safety upgrades such as speed tables or raised crosswalks to go with the new pavement.โ

Our office is partnering with Cypress Resiliency Project (@cypress_rp) to offer a free one-day Mental Health First Aid certification course for the Berkeley community! (RSVP: https://t.co/cgHtptnFHb)
Amidst the rising tide of fascism in our country, it is more important than ever for us to come together and support each other during moments of crisis. This course, which is usually $140 per person, is being offered 100% free of charge.
This violent sense of entitlement, toxic rhetoric, and negative campaigning disproportionately targets women and people of color fighting for progressive policies. In response, we should be kind to each other, disagree respectfully, and find hope in building a better future.โฃ๏ธ๐
Physically assaulting elected officials, public servants, and volunteers is unacceptable and should be loudly condemned. I'm grateful to the people who stepped in and de-escalated this situation, but this should have never happened. This is ridiculous.
ICYMI: An audience member attempted to assault @RashiKesarwani last night, furious over modest neighborhood changes. Anti-housing anger has reached an absurd levelโwhy the irrational resistance to these common sense housing solutions?
In addition to the assault on my colleague @RashiKesarwani, yesterday someone hit a canvasser in the head with a gun and threatened to shoot them. These violent assaults are made far more common by the toxic rhetoric dominating our political discourse

DIGUSTING behavior from Piedmont Landlord Chris Moore.
Last night, canvassers for @carroll_fife were assualted for campaigning for her. Now today Chris Moore drops a video excusing the violence and even trying to provide reasons why violence ism ok.
This is horrible.
