@MrsSheehanMath I’ve been experiencing this as well with my 7th grade team. I have started teaching them as if they were my students in our mtgs. I pull out the manipulatives and show them step by step what I do. Little changes are happening, and I share everything I do. “Use if you’d like”

Normally we would have gone camping, but didn’t happen this summer. Staycation for me!

@zelt_jean I believe that homework is different than practice. Practice of math skills is necessary, but that doesn’t mean it should have to take place at home. And I do not think that homework should be taken for a grade.

@physicsnico @howie_hua This made a HUGE difference in my classes this year. My first year was really rough (returning to middle school after 19 years), I felt like a first year teacher again. Insisting on relationships first gave me the freedom to be me.
