Seán Mac Diarmada and James Connolly were executed #OTD 12 May 1916. Mac Diarmada spent the days before his execution in the Gaol. The badly wounded Connolly was brought to the prison that morning in an army from a hospital in Dublin Castle.
The PM Press edition of Connolly's Songs of Freedom is an exact facsimile of the original on deposit in the National Library of Ireland, including corrections in William O'Brien's hand, and highly recommended.
On this day in 1916 James Connolly was executed by firing squad for his role in the Easter Rising of 1916, an armed insurrection launched by Irish republicans against British rule in Ireland. Approximately 1,600 rebels seized strategic locations all over Dublin.
We are very pleased to now offer FREE e-books and PDFs of the Lost & Early Works of James Connolly edited by @CMacCaba on our website: https://t.co/vM85U7tkGg
The condition of the Connolly memorial (needles, human waste, graffiti) is bad and worsening lately. Still bring the 1916 tour there but swerve with school groups. Who is responsible for its maintenance?

@milesaerach@ConnollyFest I apologise Miles if im coming across frustrated but thats because I am. The second volume of Connolly's works is out this year, the third volume is due next year, but what's the point when not even the Connolly Festival accepts my published findings? It's heartbreaking.
@TonightVMTV As Shane points out farmers are price takers. Farm gate milk price is down 30% on this time last year, which make it difficult for contractors to increase prices, contractors employ 20,000staff of which 14,000 are part- time and consume 350 million litres of diesel annually.
This is very good from @CMacCaba and one of the few piece's of analysis I have read that clearly links the fuel protests with Ireland's deeply unequal and dysfunctional grass-fed agricultural system.
