Yesterday, our pilot for a day Seth Wilkey became an honoray Naval Aviator receiving his Wings of Gold from the Executive Officer of VT-35 on Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. He toured the flight line viewing a T-6B Texan, a T-44 Pegasus, and a P-3 Orion.

Today the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi Fire and Emergency Services hosted the 21st Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the NASCC Fire Station. We remember the 2,977 lives lost that day, and the immeasurable sacrifices made by our nation.

NAS Kingsville Emergency Services and Kingsville Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. No civilians were harmed in this incident. The pilot was conducting a routine training flight that originated at NAS Kingsville. The incident is under investigation.
Today at approximately 12:00 p.m. CDT, a Navy T-45C Goshawk jet trainer aircraft assigned to Training Air Wing 2 at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas, crashed on approach to NAS Kingsville.
One instructor pilot was aboard and ejected from the aircraft. The pilot has been transported to Christus Spohn Hospital-Kleberg for further evaluation. The aircraft impacted an empty field on Navy property just north of the airfield.
