Great constructive meeting with @MaggieChapman this morning to discuss actions on our priorities:
1. Stations for Cove/Newtonhill.
2. Completing Aberdeen to Central Belt improvements.
3. Progressing Buchan to delivery.
We continue to meet with our new MSPs across party lines.
Aberdeen is Scotland's third largest city, Aberdeenshire has a population matching the city. Yet the only railway stations in Aberdeenshire are the towns that happen to be on the intercity lines, and the city itself has only a single station.
It's time to fix this.

@a1_aird Dyce station is the opposite side of the runway than the terminal building. However, a stop on the line at bankhead would serve P&J Live and would be more accessible to the airport than Dyce is now. (while not being perfect)
@mapfan442 We've lined up meetings with our local MSPs over the next few weeks to get the ball rolling and discuss next steps. In the meantime NESTRANS are conducting a follow up study to add to the evidence base for the rail connection. Stay tuned.
Stunning views out over the sea from the train departing Aberdeen today. Wind turbines on the horizon.
We must reconnect Fraserburgh, Peterhead and Ellon to the rail network, for tourism, for industry, for people.
Congratulations to @StephenFlynnSNP for his appointment as Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Transport and Tourism!
This session of the Parliament can be one in which major improvements are made to the lives of people in the region.
Let's make it happen.
. @LNER has revealed some of the UKβs best beaches to visit by train this summer, naming many stations up and down the east coast of the country.
Buchan is blessed with some of the longest unbroken beaches in the UK, 'Platform to Paradise' indeed.
Time to #ConnectOurCoast
Cllr Gillian Owen hits the nail on the head here:
βFor the northern side, Ellon, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, I think we would love any type of train to be perfectly honest, because the train stops at Aberdeen.β

"The inaugural two-carriage services were upped to seven to cope with demand."
A tale as old as time, demand for rail connections have always been underestimated. The same will be true when we reopen the line through Ellon and Peterhead to Fraserburgh.

@mapfan442@ScotRail Not yet, we've written to all our elected MSPs to arrange a meeting to discuss next steps. They get sworn in tomorrow so hoping for the first discussions early next week. Watch this space.
. @ScotRail are increasing services in response to passenger demand!
Local services between Inverurie, Aberdeen and Montrose will run more frequently.
These are the exact services that will serve new stations at Cove and Newtonhill. Time to build!

There's a train overlooking the Broch beach again!
Out at Fraserburgh's Blue Light Festival today celebrating the work of our emergency services. New rail links make visiting events like these easy for folk across the region. It's time to extend the East Coast Main Line north.
