In a recent poll, I asked followers which @CPC_HQ candidate they were most likely to support. The poll has now been up for almost 3 days and not a single person has voted for @PeterMacKay. If MacKay is the CPC nominee, will you support him? Or will you vote for a new party?
@B32Boo@DebbieAEvans13@CPC_HQ@MaximeBernier Yes it’s just that tons of people still trust the media and they will only ever out Conservatives as racist, never their own. So if that’s the way it’s going then many people will have a one sided view unfortunately
@ramielew @DebbieAEvans13@B32Boo@CPC_HQ@MaximeBernier I wonder if he’s actually popular in the East or if his polls are high there because he’s the most recognizable name of the four candidates. I’m from and live in western Canada so I wouldn’t really know. Can anyone from Eastern Canada tell me if he’s actually popular there?
@DebbieAEvans13@B32Boo@CPC_HQ@MaximeBernier That’s a fair point! And yes that was narrow minded on my end to assume all of their followers were just from the cpc so thank you for mentioning that point!A question I have for is do you think the PPC will be able to survive all of the smears and attacks that they will receive?
@B32Boo@CPC_HQ@MaximeBernier Maybe, but Canada has yet to see a right wing populist movement take off like it has with Trump in the US, and Brexit in the UK. Eastern Canadian Urban centers play a very large role in our elections and I just cannot foresee them becoming right wing populists.
@DebbieAEvans13@B32Boo@CPC_HQ@MaximeBernier Yep, MacKay would not be good for the west at all. Makes me wonder who western Canada will vote for if he’s the leader. Maybe Wexit? Or maybe it’ll be split 3 ways between the CPC, Wexit, and the PPC.
@ChrisSurano@B32Boo@CPC_HQ@MaximeBernier I think this is probably true. I can’t see many places in Eastern Canada flipping from liberal to conservative, let alone flipping to the PPC. And the resentment in Western Canada will lead to some conservatives voting Wexit, but not PPC.
@B32Boo@CPC_HQ@MaximeBernier Another factor that could be in the PPC’s favour is if Peter MacKay becomes the conservative leader. That could really bring many social conservatives over to the People’s Party. They will have to compete with Wexit in Western Canada too though.
@B32Boo@CPC_HQ@MaximeBernier I definitely find myself attracted to the platform of the #PPC as I do consider my views as a mix of conservatism and libertarianism, and I like that they’re populist. However, my biggest issue with them is the electability factor. Do you think they could win seats in Eastern...
Happy #FourthofJuly2020 to my American friends and neighbours! Wishing you all a fun and safe day! Don’t let the left ruin your day by calling your national holiday “racist!” #IndependenceDay2020
With teams in the US like the @Redskins and the @Indians reviewing their team names, is it only a matter of time before other teams with similar names to follow suit? For example the @EdmontonEsks could be a leftist target in Canada anytime now. What’s everyone’s opinion on this?
