If your writing is random.
Your results will be random.
To improve your writing you should:
• Make time to write.
• Put constraints in place.
• Have a checklist to follow.
Writers who follow a process.
Surpass those that don't.
What's the most underrated skill you should learn?
Storytelling.
Want to be a better writer?
→ Storytelling.
Want to be a better marketer?
→ Storytelling.
Want to be a better teacher?
→ Storytelling.
Stories are the foundation of everything we do.
My ultimate productivity hack.
Stop following productivity hacks.
Instead:
- Write a list
- Work through it.
- Make a new list.
- Repeat.
Life's just one big continuous to-do list.
2022: I was working in engineering.
2024: Full-time copywriter.
How did I make the switch?
- Trying new skills.
- Failing miserably.
- Learning what I liked.
- Pivoting into a new career.
What you're doing now.
Doesn't determine where you end up.
Upskilling isn’t a competence issue.
It’s a volume issue.
Want to be better at sales?
Sell more.
Want to be a better writer?
Write more.
Want to be a better runner?
Run more.
The progress lies in the reps you’re putting off.
Scarce mindset:
‘I need to go out and sell my services to everyone and anyone’
Abundant mindset:
‘I am going to connect with interesting people and start genuine conversations’
It pays to be a bad listener.
It did for me.
If I listened to others.
I’d have never quit engineering.
If I listened to others.
I’d have never moved country.
If I listened to others.
I’d have never started my blog.
Turns out my fiancee was right.
I don’t listen after all.
Stop falling for this ‘content power hour crap’.
Instead, show up and start putting in the reps.
Whether it takes 5 hours or 50.
Over time you’ll improve.
There are no shortcuts to writing better and faster.

10. Criticism is unavoidable.
You can’t please everyone.
You’ll get criticised for blending in.
You’ll also get criticised for standing out.
So my advice.
Do what makes you happy.
And take criticism with a pinch of salt.
Usually it's a them problem more than a you problem.
9. Get some routine into your life.
Having a routine has genuinely saved my life.
I get up at the same time most days.
And more or less do the same things.
Granted not every day can be like this.
But if I’m knocked out of routine.
I do what I can to get back into it.
