MLB today proposed an overhauled domestic amateur-entry system that removes high school players from the draft, makes college players eligible after sophomore year, shortens the draft from 20 to 12 rounds, and cuts bonus pool from current $358.7M to $200M, sources tell ESPN.
Congratulations to our high school players of the week. These guys had big individual performances across the weekend.
15U - Caleb Gray - 4/7, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 IP, 2 K, great defense
16U - Kai Moore - 3/8 with 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 RBI, 2 R, great defense
18U - Roy Bannister - 7/13, 2 2B, HR, 8 RBI, 6 R, 1 IP
18U Pitcher - Ben Fong - 5 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 6 K
Great job guys!
@BBGreatMoments Not a balk. The question is if he was picking to an open base. However, you can see the runner trying to steal third, so he threw to third. No balk. You have to make a play at a base to get someone out is the rule.
@Coach_JayBee To see if they can hit. If they hit with wood they can hit with metal. And this good for recruitable players. Got to be at least high school.
@TheEXECUTlONER_ In a high school game were I coach the baller would have been tossed. The umpires already said that is the rule at the beginning of the season.
