Supporting and staying connected with our District 8 seniors remains one of my strongest commitments, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to spend time with them and my team today.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of enjoying a few rounds of Lotería with the wonderful senior community at St. Matthew’s Church in District 8.
We shared great conversations, lots of laughs, and even gave away some plants 🪴 as prizes!
Final reminder! Join Mayor Jones and me for our upcoming Mayoral Town Hall on Thursday, May 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Phil Hardberger Park (Urban Ecology Center, 8400 NW Military Hwy).
We’ll be discussing key issues facing our community and sharing updates from City Hall. I look forward to hearing your questions and perspectives.
Please note: parking at the Urban Ecology Center is limited, so we encourage you to carpool or use rideshare services if possible.
Congratulations to Juspreet Kaur on her creative and inspiring idea to help promote reading through Victor Wembanyama’s love of books — an initiative recently highlighted in The New York Times.
Their service, innovation, and dedication help bring new ideas to the table, strengthen community engagement, and support the meaningful work our city needs.
Thank you, Juspreet, for your service to San Antonio and for continuing to champion our public libraries.
Most importantly, community feedback continues to play a major role in this process, and we encourage residents to stay engaged throughout budget season. The meeting is open to the public and streaming live through TVSA and the City’s official platforms: https://t.co/t5XfGybUXT
Today, City Council is gathering for the FY 2027 Budget Goal Setting Session to help shape the priorities that will guide San Antonio’s upcoming budget.
From public safety and streets to parks, libraries, housing, and neighborhood services, these conversations help determine where the City focuses its investments in the year ahead.
A big thank you to the Botanical Garden team for hosting us and helping make the day so special. Spending time with our seniors is always one of the best parts of the job.
We recently treated some of the amazing senior volunteers from the Bob Ross Senior Center, located right here in District 8, to a special day at the @sabotgarden.
