MCI's are laws that hurt tenants, and some landlords use them to become richer than they already are.

Last fall, I sent a letter to DHCR asking them to take a closer look at the fraudulent MCI’s that Zara Realty was using to raise rents.

The agency sided with the tenants, but Zara hasn’t stopped filing MCIs. Protecting tenants is also a part of fighting the housing crisis.

@JimMagee2022 Normal people have difficulty remembering details about something that happened many years ago. What can you expect from one that was intoxicated, with no recollection of the event, and a girlfriend who did not have all the details of the interaction between Juan and her friend.

Julie Won is very selective on how she read the report on Juan Ardila. Did she miss the part where the alleged "victim" indicated she was so drunk, she does not recall anything that happened that night, and she was relying on her girlfriend's account.

@JimMagee2022 I would hate to live in a society where if a woman fingers me for a crime, I will automatically be found guilty and not given a day in court or at least the benefit of a doubt. I believe this accusation has political, racial, and gender hate motives. The word is "lynching".

I read some of the statements of the women accusing Juan Ardila, and I believe their story has too many holes

He was labeled a homophobic,misogynist,anti-jew,anti-chinese,anti-black for offensive words he used on Facebook as a teenager, and recently, a criminal for parking tickets. All we see is a brilliant young man who will do great things for our community if only given a chance.

@CMJulieWon Parking in Woodside/Sunnyside has become Imposibe, Upwards of $300 for monthly parking. With more and more bicycles in the street and very few parking options, the time has come for a better alternative
More parking construction or zone parking.

Juan should have realized the seriousness of the accusation and gotten a lawyer for guidance. This is the reason we have the Miranda laws.
