Today, the Copyright Society of Malawi we have signed a memorandum of Understanding with leading digital satellite television provider, MultiChoice Malawi aimed at fighting piracy. The agreement will see the two entities jointly working on programs, activities and implementation
In a bid to keep musicians abreast with the Copyright Society of Malawi's mandate, the body is conducting a trainers training in Lilongwe. Participants have been drawn from the Musician Union to Malawi and are being trained on the copyright law among others.
On behalf of Malawian artists whose works have been exploited, COSOMA works CAPASSO; a Digital Rights Licensing Agency which collects and distributes royalties to its members, to claim royalties from social media platforms. This applies to all local artists.
