Evening, residents of Tshwane! I haven't forgotten about our daily Region 7 updates.

Beginning with pothole patching which was completed by our teams on Koper Street, Ward 105.

Next, our teams were out in Ward 103 refreshing the road markings in Ekangala Gochville.

Still in ward 103 stormwater catchpits were cleaned and unblocked.

Over in Ward 105, our teams were pruning trees and clearing branches on General Louis Botha Street.

Also in Ward 105, teams completed grass cutting and grave digging at the Bronkhorstspruit Cemetery.

The City of Tshwane welcomes the decisive judgment handed down by the High Court of South Africa which grants the municipality a final interdict, eviction, and demolition order against a non-compliant property developer and repeat offender, George Asaba.

Our road maintenance team has been hard at work, successfully completing repairs on Blinkbaar Street and Grit Avenue, Zwartkop.

Our Electricity team worked tirelessly across several streets this week to restore public lighting;

Kiepersol, Kate, Zebra, Waterbuck, Leopard, Sable, Orynx, Jackal, Blesbuck, Lynx Roads to ensure multiple poles are repaired and bulbs replaced.

A total of 61 streetlights are now shining brightly for the community.

⚠️ Cable fault identified at Edwards & Irewald Street.

Residents of Tshwane today, Mayor @nasiphim and the Mayoral Committee are in Region 4 inspecting vacant land identified for informal traders. We are committed to regulating informal trade and empowering South Africans 🇿🇦

The City has referred Asaba George’s case to the High Court on Monday, 13 April 2026 for illegal structures and hazardous internal alterations. Our priority remains the safety of our citizens over the profits of non-compliant property owners.

We have disconnected their water and electricity. This cannot be ignored. Lives are put at risk every day this structure remains occupied. Each day, we will show up and remove lawlessness from our beautiful city.

I’m at the Kudu Building in Sinoville with MMC @Rambohannes for public consultations on the City’s future plans, the 3-year budget, and the new property rates policy and by-law.

At 467 Carl Street, we disconnected a business found to be bridging their power supply. Stealing electricity is more than a crime; it is an insult to every law-abiding resident of our city. We are reclaiming our grid. If you bypass the system, we will find you.

Back in action: The Bad Buildings Committee is in Pretoria West today.

We’ve discovered numerous properties with illegal structures and no building plans. Notices have been served. We remain committed to enforcing the law and restoring order.
