Allow me take you on a little worded journey about my life.

At the age of 10 I was practically shipped to a very prestigious boarding school in Delta state.
“Infant Jesus Academy Asaba”.

My Dad’s reason was
“Charles you need to learn our language. And you need to meet the leaders of tomorrow”
And oh boy was he right😂.

I use to think we had money cause we had a car in a neighborhood where all my friends were always taking the bus or worse, trekking.
Until I got to this school and started hearing 10 year old nigga’s talk about planes and trains.

I was like.
“What? Wait what??
You mean the shit I see on Disney and Nickelodeon are real?
And y’all have actually been in them??
What??”
As a 10 year old I was amazed beyond reality.
I’d come home and my siblings and friends will try to make me feel like we have money. But I knew the truth.

Nigga we broke!!!

So I’d go to this fancy ass school. And I’d go with like 5 thousand naira allowance for the term.
That wouldn’t have been bad for a 10 year old if I wasn’t going to infant Jesus.
Where all my friends seemed to have had x10 my allowance.
I’ll call my mum to complain and I could hear the hurt in her voice she couldn’t change the situation so I just stopped calling.

Now I’m in the space of “I’ll figure it out.”

A 10 year old child from Surulere. Trynna figure it out in this boujee ass school.

So I start stealing.
“I’m from around the way, I’m definitely leaving here with something”. 😂
Y’all ain’t gon just ride me.

Bro it gets bad mehn.
I’d steal anything.
My cloths go missing? I’m taking someone else’s.
My money runs out? I’m taking someone else’s.
My provision runs out? I’m taking someone else’s.
I can’t find my notes? I’m taking someone else’s.

It’s getting bad but my parents don’t know. Cause there’s no “Guardian” watching me in school, when the other kids report and I get punished I just face my shit and run it back. No amount of punishment was gon make me place that call asking for money when I knew it would only make my parents sad.

Then God comes in.

I get caught kissing a girl.
(The irony of this will always be funny)

The report said
“Charles is being suspended for sexual misconduct”
How kissing a girl turns into sexual misconduct was insane to me.

I got home.
My Dad is furious and embarrassed.
A couple slaps
A couple whips
A lot of screams
Next thing I know, I’m in an all-boys school called “Igbobi College Yaba.”
My Alma Matter.
“Now I no dey deal with boujee nigga’s again.
Now na street to street.”
Now I’m seeing people in worse financial situations than my family.
And my 14 year old mind is blown all over again at life’s reality.
I start feeling like those boujee kids that I didn’t use to like.

So today I’m a product of both realities.
I’m a complete product of understanding the bottom and the top.
That’s why I’ll talk to everybody.
The Beggars on the street and the junkie in the bunk.
To the Robbers and Killers in the Hoods.
To the Ivy League graduate.

If it’s a conversation we’ll have it.
If it’s a debate. You’ll lose, but we’ll have it.
If it’s reality and experience there’s a huge chance you don’t come close.

But then again. Who I’m I to talk about your reality.
I’m only here to speak on mine.
I hope this gives you a little understanding to my mindset. To my Reality.

If a woman married you because she was left by the man she desired a lot and you showed up with all the love story and spoiled her with all the money in this world, you are not to her but just a second choice, and she will punish you for that behaviour while still fvcvking her Ex if he is still accessible to her.

If you failed to treat a woman how she ought to be treated, you will pay for thinking you could be exceptional.
