Because of the adverse restriction of the villager’s rights to trees and forest products, this empowered me to encourage villagers and organizations to join the Chipko Movement in 1973.
By 1964, I virtuously instituted the Society for Village Self-Rule to organize fellow villagers in Gopeshwar for making a living out of making wooden implements from ash.
In 1956, I found hope when a Gandhian leader delivered an inspiring speech. From then on, other youth groups and I launched ourselves into various movements and campaigns such as the Sarvodaya movement and other Gandhian campaigns.
