POLL: Today, Liberals filibustered for hours at committee to avoid having Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appear and give his reasons for proroguing (shutting down) Parliament last summer (1/5)
Conservatives have introduced an amendment to remove the Liberal expansion of MAID to those with mental illness, so that a proper review can happen – one that should have happened last year. Canadians should know the impacts of expanding MAID even further before it becomes law.
Instead of recklessly expanding MAID to those with mental illness without parliamentary review, the Liberals should focus on providing additional mental health support
The Liberals’ own Justice Department has said that expanding MAID to those where mental illness is the sole underlying condition ‘could be seen as undermining suicide prevention initiatives and normalizing death as a solution to many forms of suffering'.
It has been a year since the Liberal Justice Minister tabled Bill C-7, the government's latest MAID legislation. Now, at the last minute, the Liberals are accepting an amendment that would start a reckless countdown to expand MAID to those with mental illness. #cdnpoli
Minister Sajjan must show Canadians, especially our troops, he acted immediately on sexual misconduct allegations when they were first brought to his attention. His failure to do so calls into question his ability to continue serving as the Minister of National Defence. #cdnpoli
Just now, the House of Commons voted in favour our @CPC_HQ motion calling on the Parliament of Canada to recognize that genocide is currently being carried out by the Communist Party of China against Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims. #cdnpoli
Around the world, we have solemnly uttered the phrase ‘never again,’ but it falls flat without action.
We cannot say never again and turn a blind eye to government coordinated rape, torture, indoctrination, and forced sterilization.
Shameful.
This afternoon, the House of Commons will vote on the #UyghurGenocide motion.
The Gov’t of Canada has an opportunity to call the crimes against the Uyghurs for what they are: a genocide.

Cet après-midi, la Chambre des communes va voter sur la motion du #GénocideOuïghour.
Le gouvernement du Canada a l'opportunité d’appeler les crimes contre les Ouïghours pour ce qu’ils sont : un génocide.

We cannot remain silent. Silence only helps those who commit crimes against humanity, never the victims. Today we're calling on the Trudeau government to recognize the Uyghur genocide. My statement:
The House of Commons just voted to pass my Private Member's Bill at Second Reading. Now it will be sent to the Justice Committee for further study. Here is my statement.
Given the spread of variants, and concerns that certain vaccines may have diminished efficacy against some, we have requested an emergency meeting of the Health Committee to get answers on if Trudeau's vaccine strategy will allow us to outpace the spread. https://t.co/keHFSEuUBO
« During the health committee meeting, Paul-Hus held up copies of contracts AZ and Pfizer had signed with the EU, Israel and the U.S.» «How is it that I got my hands on these major contracts but here in Canada we can't put our finger on any information?». https://t.co/Z7oJLMbO52
