Visitation services for fallen Chicago Police Officer John G. Bartholomew #12963 are underway and will continue through this evening. We will never forget his dedication and service to our great city.
The Chicago Police Department marched on Michigan Avenue during the annual St. Jude Police Memorial March this morning in memory of all 608 officers who have died in the line of duty. Together with our Gold Star Families, we carry forward the legacies of our fallen.
We honored the life and service of Officer Luis Huesca with his family and friends at a memorial roll call at the Gold Star Families Memorial today. We will never forget his legacy of service and everything he did to protect our city.
As we celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day today, we honor the dedication and commitment of law enforcement professionals who safeguard our communities each day.

The #ChicagoPolice Department and @cpdmemorial completed Operation Santa today. This weekend, we joined Santa to visit the homes of our Gold Star Families and catastrophically injured officers. Thank you to all the donors, sponsors and volunteers who made this weekend possible.

The #ChicagoPolice Mounted Unit joined BraveHearts for #TrailToZero, a 20-mile journey to raise awareness for veteran mental health and suicide prevention. We rode to honor those we've lost while focusing on the healing power of equine therapy and community.

As we marked four years since the loss of fallen hero Officer Ella French, we honored her as Honorary Officer Ella French Way was unveiled outside the Leighton Criminal Courthouse yesterday. Ella's mom, Elizabeth French, and her partners, Detective Joshua Blas and Officer Carlos Yanez Jr., were surrounded by support as Ella's street sign was unveiled.
