I could not agree more! @MayorBMScott ran on a platform of social and racial justice. He has done absolutely nothing to ensure equitable and long term affordable housing for the poor. He (among all city council members!) cater to rich developers (zoning breaks, land acquisition)
Either Black neighborhoods Matter & 810 Leadenhall will have affordable units marketed to predominantly Black neighboring residents, or our elected officials should stop talking about equity. We can’t wade through the doublespeak anymore, says Bland-Thomas https://t.co/94pe31d3E4

Happening now - @Zeke_Cohen to the Department of Finance: “What is the cost of doing nothing? As we’re thinking about numbers… what does it cost the City to not have a market around affordable housing?”
“We ARE seeing development already and it’s NOT inclusive. And that’s the issue. We’ve got a lot of projects coming online and the rents being asked are already 80% AMI.” @ElectRyanDorsey
Some of these neighbors were legacy home owners who lost their house and no longer were able to stay in the neighborhood because there’s nothing affordable. We need affordable housing to protect our neighbors.
Franklin Square resident: When looking for affordable housing for neighbors displaced by a fire, “There was no affordable housing and when we called, we were told, ‘You’re better off looking somewhere else. There’s none in Baltimore City.”
“Inclusionary housing means racial and gender equity for our essential workers (…) it is key to mitigating displacement in neighborhoods.” - Loraine of @1199SEIU_MDDC
