@PaulCalandra you have not spoken to us. Why? We at CPIC have not heard from you when we have requested to speak with you. We are the voice of #parents at the TCDSB. We know #Education. We know what OUR #children need. We know you have a mandate that does not serve #students.
Better access for parents means better outcomes for students.
Our government is requiring school boards to establish Student and Family Support Offices to give families clear answers and timely solutions when it comes to their child’s education.

@ETFOeducators@ETFOpresident This also needs to include Parent Involvement Committees & Parent Councils. #Parents who #volunteer on the front lines are a wealth of Info & know what's happening on the ground. Yet we are systematically being left out of the conversation. #education#ontario
@fordnation so you are spending more tax payers money on what? Just increase the schools block budgets so they are adequately funded to buy and maintain supplies for the schools. This makes zero fiscally responsible sense. #Education#Ontario
Ontario teachers don’t need special credit cards. They need a government that properly funds schools!
#OSSTF President @marthahradowy spoke with The Trillium this week about the Premier’s comments on giving teachers “purchase cards” to buy supplies, and how it is unclear whether this would even work.
But why are educators paying out of pocket for basic classroom needs in the first place? Could it have something to do with the $6.3 billion this government has taken away from #OntEd schools since 2018?
Ontario’s students deserve far better than cuts: https://t.co/dQpfubgiKV
@TinaYazdani Parent Councils are now and have been for years filling the gaps with fundraising because the @fordnation government #underfunding leaves our schools with inadequate budgets. Yet @PaulCalandra wants to pay supervisors who know nothing about #education $350k a year.
New today: Ontario’s education minister says he’s “not embarrassed” that school boards are being forced to pay $350k annually to the supervisors he appointed. Paul Calandra calls it an “appropriate amount of money” for them to limit school board spending. Watch our exchange:
NEW: the Ford government’s appointed school supervisors can spend up to $350,000/year, according to the education minister. That money will come from school board budgets, not the ministry of education. To compare: the TDSB’s 22 trustees made just over $550,000 last year.
Ontario’s education minister said he banned livestreams of school board meetings to “bring down the temperature.” Critics fired back, telling him to “fund the system” if he wants to cool things down.
Paul Calandra’s now “taking another look” at the ban after parent backlash.
“The judges were very clear this is a significant decision. They wanted to take their time because it impacts all ONT Boards. There's board #overreach & misinterpretation of the Education Act by a number of boards of education. #Boards pay attention & Ministry of #Education."
When class sizes grow, individual attention shrinks. Students become numbers instead of names, and teachers are stretched thin trying to do the impossible. #abed#onted#cdned#edchat

#HappyThanksgiving!
We are grateful for our #TCDSB families, friends, staff, and school communities who make our Board such a special place to learn and grow.
Children with special needs are being denied services in #OntEd because Doug Ford has cut education funing and refuses to update the aprcial education funding model to reflect current needs. Kids are suffering.

Lecce funded education below the rate of inflation by $6.35B. Almost 20,000 Ontario students couldn’t attend school last year due to lack of special education supports. @OntAutism tells us situation will worsen without school trustees.
