Lifelong learning requires lifelong curiosity … ongoing questioning with a willingness to see things differently.
I’m curious -
Are you holding tight to status quo based on overwhelming evidence or fear of change? Are you sure? How do you know?
"That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it" is a self-limiting way to live. People who never let go of their views never evolve.
Growth is not just about embracing new ideas. It's also about rethinking old ones.
Refusing to change your mind is a decision to stop learning.

Let’s never forget… Medicine is about
Love of the patient
Love of the science/biology
Love of the privilege
Patients: Acknowledge those who care for you
MD/DO/RN/PharmD/++: Acknowledge yourself for the commitment to loving care, personal sacrifices demanded
Thank you!! ❤️
Must watch video click with SimonSinek. Acknowledging and supporting employees costs nothing, yet reaps untold benefits, including profit and retention. Do you love your job?!
Do you help others love their job, too? I help others find (create) joy in their work -including leaders
You want a mentor. What does that mean exactly? Do you need a sponsor, coach, or advisor instead?
Enjoyed talking about finding & managing mentors w @KathleenTimme on her Teaching in Medicine podcast.

@DGlaucomflecken Your work is refreshing and valuable! Satire reveals pain and opens conversation, including with payers, govt. The FM response screams ‘pain.’ Status quo is creating pain. Thank you for shedding light on our realities and letting us laugh together. Action for change is up to us
@HarrietHopfMD@DrHowardLiu Love it!! This same curiosity and playful productivity keeps work fun for years to come!! I enjoy helping people find ways of having fun while working. Games keep us focused and engaged … at any age 😎
@GLBDallaghan This hits the nail on the head … the practice of medicine is experiential. It is when you have to make a decision, actually apply the knowledge learned, that you figure it out. Plus, you figure out what you don’t know and need to learn. Optimally it creates a desire to learn
“That’s just the way I am” is a missed opportunity for growth.
Personality is not your destiny. It’s your tendency. No one is limited to a single way of thinking, feeling, or acting.
Who you become is not about the traits you have. It's what you decide to do with them.
@LimGrapes Another favorite is "yesterday anesthesia said it would be OK" .... then cannot even describe the person (aka 'anesthesia'), much less provide a name 🫤
