@bains_karanveer 6 years, wow. Sounds like youโre just angry because the liberals cut off the BS programs that were being abused. Scurvy? Really? Capital gains changes are not going through and they donโt tax unrealized gains. If itโs so bad, why are you trying to become a citizen as a PR? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
@TrumpDailyPosts If only your followers understood that tariffs are not bringing Billions of dollars INTO the US, they are collecting Billions of dollars from US BUSINESSES that will go bankrupt or pass it onto consumers as inflation.
@H0ndo819@leoknyc777@BasedMikeLee Look up what a tariff actually is and report back. Tariffs are on goods going INTO the US. Other countries donโt pay them or get money from them.
@ReneRosengren@webcav1@SpencerHakimian Greenland is not going to let the US take them over. Thatโs ridiculous. They hate America just for suggesting it.
@RobLaArizonaSJB@evaluuna@purse_jame48483@CalltoActivism OMG, that is what the US dairy producers are saying because they want to sell more. Of course they are saying that in Wisconsin. There are more dairy cows in Wisconsin alone than all of Canada. Reality is that the Canadian public does not want US milk because of growth hormones.
@RobLaArizonaSJB@evaluuna@purse_jame48483@CalltoActivism Canadaโs dairy and agriculture industry operates on a supply and demand system that has been in place for 50 years to prevent huge producers like the US that are subsidized from flooding the market and taking out our farmers. This is why our eggs donโt go up in price like the US
@RobLaArizonaSJB@purse_jame48483@CalltoActivism There were no tariffs between Canada and the US since the 80โs (NAFTA) and later USCMA in 2018. Agriculture has a quota and high tariffs if they go above the quota so farmers donโt have to dump milk. US has never half filled the quota and the US has the same on Canada per USCMA.
@purse_jame48483@CalltoActivism Your leader calls a trade deficit a โsubsidyโ FFS. Give your head a shake. There is a deficit because the US has 10x more population. Most of the 60B deficit (not 200B as he says) is crude oil that the US sells overseas for 5x more than they get it from Canada.
@NickDimondi@scottmelker Most of those countries including Canada donโt tariff the US (see my replies for explanation) but yet they just got tariffs from the US. Also, it seems they calculated reciprocal tariffs only by trade surpluses when that is largely a function of population size. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
@LibertyBTC@scottmelker This means they have to pay more on importing those raw products and their production costs are higher, reducing their profit margins and most likely passing it on to their consumers. Not only will goods imported from other countries go up, prices of US made goods will also rise
@LibertyBTC@scottmelker Except it is also taxing โproductionโ because many US manufacturing plants donโt have the raw materials or cheap labour to make their products and keep them competitively priced so they are taxing production AND consumption.
To be clear.
We can debate the merits and effectiveness of tariffs, but we cannot debate the facts.
They do not create โexternal revenue.โ
The extra revenue is paid by American companies to U.S. customs.
Whether those companies negotiate better prices or pass the expense to consumers is TBD, but foreign countries are not adding money to our coffers.
