Double amputee. 100+ marathons. Two Paralympic Golds.
Last month, Richard Whitehead broke his own world record for a marathon by a double amputee: 2:40:25.
His first marathon took 5 hours, 19 minutes. That was 22 years ago.
Progress takes time. Congrats, Richard! ๐
Please join us in congratulating Grace Duffy!
Grace has been with us for 3 years. During her time, the organizationโs impact at the RI State House has grown significantly.

Over 300 advocates at the RI State House to fund Health and Human Services.
Thank you to @SenLouDiPalma & @EvanShanley1 for joining us.
HB 8183 is an investment in our State. Together, we will get this done.
โYour son has autism.โ
Patrick was four. It was the day after his birthday.
Then came the running.
His parents had no handbook. But they had each other and a community.
This is life after an #autism diagnosis:

@TheRealANCOR hosts the nation's conference for disability services.
RI wasn't just in the room, we were leading some of the conversations.
So proud to be a small part of this community. ๐

We are lucky to have her. ๐
๐ธ LOOK: The Rhode Island State House is glowing green.
In honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, you can catch the green glow through March 25.
Thanks to lawmakers & advocates, RI is becoming a place where accessibility isnโt just an idea, but a reality.
When the people you represent cannot access public spaces, it becomes a policy failure.
On March 12, 1990, disability advocates crawled up its steps to show Congress what inaccessibility looked like.
Just months later, the ADA became law.

Feet of snow and no sidewalk. If you were in a wheelchair, how would you handle this?
This isnโt just inaccessible, itโs dangerous. It means people walking into the street.
A historic blizzard means a big cleanup. If you can help out your neighbors, please clear the sidewalk.๐
NEW: #Autism is just as common in girls.
Itโs been thought that autism is more prevalent in boys, but a new study from Sweden says otherwise.
Data from nearly 3 million people shows little difference in the diagnosis rate.

โI didnโt care about making millions. I just wanted to make a difference.โ
