Leftists have latched on to the word “pedo” as a political weapon like they aren’t the ones who pushed the “minor attracted persons” bullshit at the height of the Great Awokening.
This is a total bait and switch that they will drop the moment it no longer suits them politically. And we know this because at the same time Democrats are flinging around the words “pedophile protection party” they’re voting against the death penalty for child rapists and introducing bills to abolish mandatory minimum sentences for possession of child pornography.
Who do you think you’re fooling here? The next step on the LGBTQ slippery slope is normalizing pedophilia. We all know it’s coming and yet we’re supposed to pretend otherwise for the next year or two until this fake insult stops working and you guys shift to something else.
@ModernWarzone Stake bolt torque bow, adrenaline pen, and a lot of running. Wasn’t too bad honestly. Reavers probably gave me the most hell throughout the entire insane run though.
I will push back a here: in no way was I praising the confederacy.
I was trying to show the nuance of the civil war. Many confederates were Christians and good people who just wanted to protect their state. Others were avowed racists like Nathan Bedford Forrest.
I’m unsure that I would call Lincoln, Garrison, or Brown anti racists. But they definitely opposed the cruel institution of slavery and did the right thing historically.
Brown was too extreme but right in his heart. Lincoln wasn’t a strong abolitionist but did eventually free the slaves. Harrison helped to shape libertarian and abolitionist thought in his era and helped set the stage for emancipation.
There is no doubt that slavery ranks as one of the greatest sins of America. It was a cruel institution of dehumanization whose ramifications we still feel today.
At the same time, few nations have openly admitted this fault and done as much to correct it as the United States. Many forget the slavery was quite active in the Caribbean and South America decades after the civil war, that slavery persists in Africa now, and in the western world as “human trafficking” today.
I never lauded the confederacy, but rather I understand historically that if you were born there, you were drafted to fight for them. You had no choice. And 90% of confederates never owned a slave nor ever would have been able to do so. To them, it wasn’t about slavery.
In fact slavery was only an issue for wealthy elites in the south, who made up a small percentage of the population.
Whereas if you were born in the north, no matter how racist you were (and there were many in NYC/Baltimore if that era) you fought for the union. You didn’t necessarily make a moral decision to free slaves. Some men did. Some African Americans fought for their own freedom here. But not everyone was a joyous abolitionist.
So even though I do honor and respect abolitionist voices from this era, I also recognize that they had the privilege of living in the north, where they could say such things without firing muskets at their neighbors.
Someone like Harriet Tubman was heroic because she suffered dearly by leading slaves to freedom via the Underground Railroad. She faced danger at every turn.
A local mansion was part of it and I’ve seen all the hiding places its wealthy owners constructed to hide slaves.
And my ancestors bled and died (for Ohio) and Gettysburg.
I seek rather to be honest about a complex and difficult period of history. No one who understands it well can make sweeping declarations of hero and villain because life isn’t that simple.
@revenant_MMXX@GuardTm I managed to do about 10,000 in a day once when I focused on solely it for the majority of the day, including doing research to make sure some of it was as accurate as possible too. In hindsight I really should actually start trying to write some again. Too many fun ideas.
The reason these people say “it feels like”, “maybe it’s based on” and “it seems like” is because they actually have zero clue if Xbox was making a Charlie Kirk reference now that they’ve discovered the hole in the throat line has gameplay context, so they’re reframing it as “you have to wonder”.
This is one of the most disgusting and nonsensical narratives I’ve seen come out of gaming discourse in a long time, and it needs to be put down.
Most of the objection to television executions seems to be that it's... distasteful. Gauche.
Many agree that execution is fine, so long as it's done behind the scenes.
But our culture has a tendency to sweep aside anything that makes us uncomfortable, as if hiding something erases its moral impact.
However, insofar as executions deter other potential attackers - they should be televised.
And yes, insofar as executions represent our society taking the life of another human - they should definitely be televised.
We don't like to see the sausage being made. But that doesn't change the fact that a pig is slaughtered.
We don't like to talk about casualties of war. But that doesn't change the fact that almost any choice made by our political leadership will result in the deaths of innocent men, women, and children, somewhere or somehow.
We sanitize language surrounding abortion. As if referring to something as "healthcare" changes the reality of killing and dismembering a human fetus.
Televising executions isn't about entertainment, and it's certainly not about bloodlust.
Instead, it serves two purposes.
1) Deterrence.
Just as seeing images of rotting lungs on cigarette cartons is a greater deterrent against smoking than simply knowing about cancer, a public execution is clearly a greater deterrent against crime.
2) Responsibility.
It's no small thing to sentence a man to death. And if we, as a society, are to execute people (which I think in certain cases we should), there should also be absolute clarity over what that means. The death penalty should never be reduced to some bureaucraric process with its human element erased.
Hiding our executions doesn't make us more civilized than ancient civilizations, it just makes us less transparent.
No twitter, gears of war did not make a charlie Kirk reference. Im sad hes passed away too but the villain of the game has been killing people via their neck and bravo was threatening to kill him the same way he killed their allies. Jesus christ you people
Gears E-Day is probably the best Gears game, hands down, in terms of gameplay and overall feel. It easily trumps 3's Horde mode with the new Horde Siege mode.
That being said, you are approaching a game caught in a weird place; there is a ton of misinformation on both the right and left sides.
The fault of this is entirely the writer who tried to force modern politics into the game. That being said, after beating the game, it seems that management muzzled him, so much so that he lamented about not being able to do more on Social.
This is Starship Troopers The Movie, the writers intentions were bad, but the execution was good. Mags character is at worst, mildly annoying. The game primarily focuses on Dom, and Marcus in that order, Reyes was a good character, and the addition of Zee the Carmine Patriarch was solid, Tai and his squad get about as much character development as Mags.
That being said, Intention is sin in of itself. People should be calling for the writer to be fired. E-Day is solid, and it stands next to Gears 2 for me in terms of story. It was very much a story that Gears needs more of, gritty dark, the Trauma here is good build up for Marcus and Doms relationship, and Doms family.. You can really see the pain beginning to build, which punctuates 2 much better than Gears 1.
Though to be fair Gears 1, was kind of hap hazard before they realized they had a franchise in the making so the characters there are very plankish compared to two or E-Day.
I'm just glad they didn't do what they did in 3 and change it to lighthearted, especially considering, ya know, everything that happens in three.
E tá no Game Pass.
Vamos com calma, galera. Joguem primeiro e depois falem. Pra mim esse E-Day é um jogaço, o Gears raiz que eu esperava há anos. ⚙️
My take on female gears/mags situation - a critical analysis
In terms of:
- Military realism
- Gears' original game design
- Gears of war lore
- Target audience

@kabrutusdeid 7/7 as the DEI proponents is nearly as bad as pushing for it. We can’t write off everything just because it has more than white guys in it for example. But this is of course just my thoughts feel free to agree or disagree doesn’t bother me either way lol.
@kabrutusdeid 6/7 Sorry for the long breakdown but I definitely think this is a case of essentially going too far in assuming everything is always the bullshit. It’s definitely all over the industry and there are certainly tells but becoming just as ridiculously puritan about it -
"A Happy ending would have felt like a betrayal to the franchise"
Uh huh...Except nearly every game has a happy ending. Jill and Chris fly off into the sunset. Claire and Leon escape Raccoon City and save a child. Jill defeats Nemesis and vows to take down Umbrella. The fuck you mean "Betrayal of the franchise." The entire symbolism and philosophy of Resident Evil is that man CAN overcome the horrors. Christ in heaven are these people made in a lab ran by those incompetent, idiotic "Umbrella Scientists" from Cregger's dumbfuck movie??
Re the Cornell rape allegations:
1. There are stark differences between Jane Doe’s 2024 statements to police and the allegations made in the 2026 civil lawsuit. Both accounts cannot simply be treated as true if they materially contradict each other. The DA declined prosecution in 2024 for substantive reasons, and that matters when assessing what happened.
2. It does no good to assume criminal guilt based on a civil lawsuit filed two years after the initial statement. That is not fair to these young men, and it is not fair to actual rape victims. It may feel satisfying to say, “The Cornell 7 raped a young woman,” but an accusation does not make that claim true.
3. Looking back on a consensual sexual encounter with deep regret happens. But it does not turn that encounter into rape. Women, like men, have agency and are responsible for making choices about sex, including their choice of partners and activities. Consent matters. So does personal responsibility.
4. Even if the encounters that night ultimately remain on the consensual side of the line, the choices made by both the young woman and the young men are still morally repugnant. Substance abuse and sexual behavior can be destructive without every destructive choice becoming a crime.
5. Accusations of physical or sexual abuse carry enormous consequences for the accused, especially for young men. That is precisely why such allegations should be taken seriously and investigated carefully. Abuse should be dealt with harshly when established. But allegations should not be treated as proof, and false claims of abuse should have severe consequences as well.
6. Feminism created an entire ideology around sex, turning what should have been equal treatment under the law into an ever-expanding demand for special treatment and social restructuring, all with a side of misandry.
