Five Years of Bored Ape Yacht Club
A note to The Best Club on the Internet,
Five years is a long time on the internet. It’s long enough to understand what makes something different, and to recognize when it becomes part of people’s lives in a real way.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club has always been more than something you scroll past. It’s something people step into, build with, and carry with them. That’s what makes this a Club.
Like @mfigge said recently, the Club should live in your world, not just your timeline. That's where we're headed.
Here's what that looks like right now.
We recently rolled out the new https://t.co/tUg19gLtIK - a fresh look, member profiles and directory, an updated https://t.co/7wvilrJ2GQ, and more coming soon. It’s a step toward making the Club feel more tangible, more connected, and easier to immerse in.
IRL is the Alpha
Over the last few weeks, Apes have been mobilizing across the globe through regional meetups, bringing local chapters together in ways that actually matter.
We spent 4/20 weekend with Snoop and Dr. Bombay, giving a group of Apes a member-only moment you can’t replicate online.
These moments pull people closer together, create and strengthen real bonds, and push the energy of the Club forward.
We say Bored Ape, You say Yacht Club
We’ve also been thinking about what it actually means to be a Yacht Club - not just the name, but the feeling behind it. That’s starting to take shape. From here on out, you’ll see it show up more clearly in our apparel, our collaborations, and an aesthetic that finally does the Yacht Club name justice.
Five years in, and we’re not slowing down.
There’s more to share, but for now… thanks for being an Ape. Thanks for being in the Club.
Been completely silent on X for months.
That all changed a few nights ago when the building in Tai Po, Hong Kong — where my mom lives — was engulfed by a massive inferno.
Her home of 2 years… gone.
Some of my personal belongings were all inside.
Still not allowed back in to see what survived.
My mom is safe, I’m safe — that’s everything that matters.
Huge thank you to our local Hong Kong community group chat who instantly checked on us and have been looking out for everyone affected. Real care from real neighbors.
Then my phone started lighting up from apes all over the world.
Apes who still remember ApeFest Hong Kong 2023 and the effort we put in together.
Overseas brothers & sisters reaching out from USA, UK, Singapore, Philippines, Isreal, Dubai… asking “Are you okay bro? Saw a huge inferno in Hong Kong ” and immediately offering help from thousands of miles away.
That love hit different.
This is why the Ape community is the greatest in the world.
BAYC isn’t just art. ApeCoin isn’t just a token.
It’s family that never forgets and shows up across oceans the moment you need it.
If you’ve ever felt this love, drop a 🧡 below and RT.
Let the world see why we’re unstoppable together.
Love you all forever.
A family portrait is really priceless to me beyond wealth and floor price, I which me and my niece birthday was few days ago.

NEWS: A California judge ruled Bored Ape NFTs are not securities, tossing the class-action suit against Yuga Labs
Unlike Top Shot & DraftKings, BAYC was sold on 3rd-party marketplaces, and royalties weakened the “common enterprise” link
Major precedent for NFT securities law
I spent months in here just to draw my name in the @BoredApeYC Bathroom

Are you this old???
The hyper-financialization of ApeCoin continues.
Couple weeks ago, we launched APE on Solana and integrated it across dozens of protocols there.
Now, APE is coming to HYPE.
Not stopping until you can use APE across every relevant chain and protocol.
Who would like to see an @apecoin $APE listed public treasury company? @animocabrands has been involved in a number of of them most recently @ddcbtc_ and @DigitalXLtd all of them have done well for $BTC like, comment, tag and RT and lets see if we can make it happen!
The ApeCo proposal has passed, by basically unanimous support - 99.66% in favor.
Lots of work to be done, immediately, to set things up. But stoked for this next phase.
I've been building in Web3 for 5+ years, watching every move
You should know why the Yuga & ApeCoin comeback story is such a big deal
Here's how they flipped everyone to hardcore bulls...
1/11
When Yuga acquired the CryptoPunks IP back in 2022 we did so not only because we believed in the project, but because we wanted to make sure it landed in crypto-native hands. With BAYC's sudden success, we felt an owed responsibility to Matt, John, and the wider crypto community to step up and become stewards, to help preserve what had started everything.
But we also knew from the outset that long-term, Punks deserved a home built on the basis of preservation. My view then, and now, is that what's good for Punks is good for all NFTs.
Yuga is still the largest holder of CryptoPunks and so we chose Node because we believe they're best positioned to protect and preserve the long-term value of the Punks legacy.
I trust the leadership at Node, and I'm honored to continue supporting that legacy from an advisory council position alongside Matt, John, and Snowfro.
I also believe this deal gives Yuga some additional space to refocus on what it set out to build in the first place. And I believe everyone wins here. Not just punks, but Yuga, apes, and the broader ecosystem. My hope is this helps set pace for a new chapter in NFTs, and I'm happy to pass the torch to the good folks over at Node, and let Yuga get back to its apeish roots.
Enormous thanks to Stone and the entire Punks team. And Benny and Micky, of course, for believing in jpegs.
Cheers everybody.
