Hey everyone. So unfortunately, like @SamHerderFCS, I also have some bad news to share.

After covering the G6 for four years at HERO Sports, my position was cut by the company that owns HERO. I loved my job. Getting to highlight schools so often overlooked was really special for me.

And I don't want to stop now, especially with the football season days away. So, like Sam, I'm also going to try independent content. I've started a Substack called The Pool Report, where I'll be covering Group of Six football and I plan to have everything there you could want: rankings, columns, podcasts, game previews, profiles and a lot more. If you're a fan of football in the Pac-12, American, Sun Belt, Mountain West, MAC and/or Conference USA, I'll work my ass off to give you content that's worthwhile.

JMU is undefeated no longer.

The Dukes (7-1) suffer their first loss of the season as App State (5-2) wins 34-31 in overtime.
