Let’s take this so much further than ‘Little Ivies’. They too are wildly competitive and über expensive. Open your mind and consider what the student did with the resources they had while in school. Stop the madness dismissing local state colleges & schools you’ve never heard of.
Fascinating but unsurprising new SAT inequity data per @socialassurity:
33% of the children of the very richest families scored a 1300 or higher, while less than 5% of middle-class students hit that score. Only 1 in 5 students from the poorest families took the test at all.
Don’t forget who you’re fighting for. Then, you never stop fighting. Be grounded in the ‘why’. Such an inspiring conversation today about higher education at #NACAC2023 in Baltimore with @GovWesMoore and @SecCardona!
Wrapped up Day 1 with a visit to the New Brunswick campus of Rutgers University. Loved it. Five unique, smaller campuses, each with their own unique vibe. Super green and lovely. Peaceful, yet so lively with 36K+ undergraduates. Easy train access to New York City and Philly!
I’m on an 8-day college visit odyssey! I’ll post a bit from each, starting with the University of Connecticut. Rural, yet huge in area with 18K+ undergraduates. Storrs felt sleepy, but the campus was gorgeous, with a great vibe overall.

I “went to college”with two clients to assist with executive functioning. Weekly, we organize assigned work, from both the syllabi and Blackboard. They then ask me to stay on the Zoom and hang out while they work. Didn’t know I was ‘body doubling’ all along. Totally effective!
#ICYMI At colleges that are highly competitive, programs in which students apply early are very popular. Some critics say that’s part of the problem. #HigherEd https://t.co/nWxmkh71GU
I am writing to announce that I am officially full, with contracts for current Juniors (Class of 2024) all signed and ready to go. This year, I did move to a waitlist, and in the meantime, I am happy to honor any request for a consultation. I am so grateful!
Decided to take a work trip to Pittsburgh to check out a few universities. What a day exploring Pitt, Carnegie Mellon, and learning more about Duquesne, Chatham, Carlow, and Point Park. Pittsburgh is a great college city. Young, cool, innovative. Great neighborhoods. ❤️🎓
Nope, I cannot help myself. I’ll seek out a college campus no matter where I am, even on vacation in paradise! We enjoyed our visit to the University of the Virgin Islands, and took in Game 1 of the annual Paradise Jam. Wisconsin vs. Georgia Women’s hoops. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
We know that the most money a student will receive will usually come from the school they attend, but if you are looking for private scholarships to fill in any tuition gaps, read on...

One of the biggest questions I get these days is all about the calculus of merit aid. This is a good read on the topic for sure. 👇🏻
