Great day at @daytonhamvention in the @arrlhq Education and Learning booth. You know you’re winning when not only do we have dozens of youth learn to solder and build kits, but even more so when youth are showing up to help teach other youth. #hamradio#amateurradio
@HankHeil the alternative is the spectrum never existing and being sold off to telecom fuckers. you can pass your ham exam in a day if you’re not stupid.
@jtriley2p ham radio is not vc only fwiw. Plenty of fsk and ofdm digimodes on HF, and regular 802.11 shit on 900 and above. only doxxes you in US anyways, if you don’t get a PO box.
October DXpedition Timeline is now ready.

@W6KSR Biggest thing will be what style of operation you want to do. There are plenty of “ham villas” that already have stations that you can go rent, or you can go field day style and pack an entire station. Generally licensure is pretty easy.
@N4BFR Do remember you can only monitor one band, so no HF and Repeater dual watch. But otherwise yeah HF will get used more; drive up POTA, roadtrip /m runs, etc.
@K5TA Yeah. I’ve only been specifically chasing dx for the past couple years, so I’ll see if getting mixed honor roll is even possible now…. a lotta dormant entities.
