stupid simple ai use case I spun up today:
I still write my to do list on paper every morning. love the brain dump, love the dopamine hit from crossing things off as done.
the problem is paper doesn't remind me of anything and I don't always have it on me.
so I made claude the middleman between my notebook and my phone.
how it works:
every morning when I’m ready to write my to do list, I text Claude “send today’s to do list” and I write it down, and anything else I can think of
As I get stuff done, I cross it off my notebook w/out worrying about logging it on my computer
When I leave the office, I send a pic of my todo list which includes many items crossed off as done, and some items I didn’t get to finish.
Claude reads the picture and rolls everything not crossed out to tomorrow’s list.
the backstops:
think of something and no notebook? text claude, it's on the list.
check something off in the app during the day? at night it tells me "cross that off in your notebook, you already did it." so I still get the satisfaction.
my favorite part: the "not doing now" list.
anything that keeps rolling over for days is a distraction, not a task. I say "park it" and it disappears into a hidden list I only look at when I have free time.
I can also remind myself to do something in the future, like “remind me to take out the trash on Tuesday nights” and it will automatically pop up on my to do list for only that day
my daily list stays short & clear. nothing gets lost.
took about 20 minutes to set up. claude + todoist + two scheduled check-ins.
paper for the satisfaction. ai for the memory.
Childlike curiosity might be the best single trait for success in sales
When someone is genuinely curious about the other persons situation, the solution they’re selling is either naturally revealed to be a fit for customer, or it’s not
No selling/persuasion is really needed
The right questions reveal truth
10 yrs ago when I was an intern in San Francisco, there was a CRE broker gentlemen who pretty much exclusive cold called in mandarin all day to Chinese multi family owners
Just came across his listing profile
He is absolutely crushing it
As @BobKnakal alludes to, the brokerage biz disproportionately rewards consistency in a niche over long periods of time
There are examples all over the country
Real estate bros:
- listen to Spotify on low volume while you rip cold calls on an auto dialer
And you can nod your head to the beat while the owner tells you to F OFF
Unreal vibe
I recently learned about some hard to come by entry level positions in Commercial Real Estate in Austin. All our CRE Launch graduates in Austin already have full time roles so I wanted to share these with my network.
