Currently the fire Marshall has began the investigation due to one unfortunate fatality.

Today, 1/1/23 at approximately 0820 am, CRFR, along with Columbia County Sheriff, responded to a residential structure fire. Total of 20 personnel responded between agencies of Fire, Police and Volunteer.

Hwy 30 at Old Portland Road/Bennett Road is currently closed due to a serious high speed car crash that involved a gas line. There is also a police chase going on simultaneously involving this incident. Avoid the area and find another route. We will post when we have any updates.

Fire crews are on the scene of a very large brush fire that is threatening structures on Columbia Blvd. in St. Helens behind El Tapatio. We have multiple resources on scene - avoid the area and surrounding areas for public safety purposes. We will post more as we can.

Firefighters are on the scene of a fire in one of the rooms at the Budget Inn in Rainier. The details of this fire are under investigation. Assistance is being provided by both Clatskanie Fire and Longview Fire. Crews will remain on scene working. No injuries to any occupants.
