I love presenting our work on wearable technology and tracking patient post op recovery! There is so much left to learn and understand so we better know how to help our patients when they leave our hospital doors!
Last night @UHCTSurgery hosted a robotics lab for thoracic surgery! It was awesome to have the extra instruction, attention to techniques, and teaching! So lucky to have such dedicated mentors who make training to be a thoracic surgeon so fun! @ltapias@JiangBoXiang
So awesome to have @DrYolondaColson virtually for grand rounds! The north east snow couldn’t stop her from imparting her wisdom this morning to our group of residents and faculty! We all could use a little bit of Luck by happenstance and here’s to learning how to create that!
Honored to stand with the extraordinary Thoracic Surgery Tapias Family: Drs. Luis & Leo Tapias with their father- All three Thoracic Surgeons! Each are excellent. What an honor to have all present at the annual #STS2026 meeting #Colombia#ThoracicSurgFamilies
Extremely fortunate to be trained by people and an institution that is always pushing what’s possible for best patient care outcomes! Proud of my mentor #DrTowe and @UHCTSurgery!!
Great overview of a rare and impressive procedure performed by a multidisciplinary @UHhospitals team, led by interventional pulmonologist Dr. Benjamin Young and thoracic surgeon Dr. Christopher Towe. Exceptional case and outcome. https://t.co/iYI8Jnm41o
Excited to present our work at @SAGES_Updates looking at esophageal morphology and POEM outcomes and also our study creating a nomogram for T1a esophageal cancer patients after endoscopic mucosal resection! Grateful for the best mentors!
Here’s what they do instead:
They host a webinar panel for residents and fellows called “pros and cons of private equity ownership” featuring a dude who made 7 million from a PE sale.
There are no pros. None at all. Don’t present PE to residents as a viable practice model on par with physician owned practices. Stop it. Don’t give it a platform.
Every professional organization in medicine should denounce the involvement of private equity in healthcare. They should send a clear message to their young physician members that PE is bad for hospitals, private practices, and patients.
They won’t do it, but they should.
Congratulations to research resident @MeganZChiu on her win at the Patient Safety Technology Challenge poster competition for the Critcial Care Innovation Incubator! She presented a novel patient proning and positioning device! So proud of this incredible innovator!
