As accidental and as bad it sucks, yes it was a red. Context does not matter in situations like that, you can only judge it by the action that took place. He was “cleats up” and it’s considered a “foul play”. Just the letter of the law, definitely a lot of inconsistencies with how it’s been called this WC for sure, but it is sadly.
Played my whole life and 3 years in college. I have, with my own eyes, seen people get red cards for this exact thing. Go up for headers, you come down off balance and then boom. “In situations like this” I’m talking about use of VAR, the ref is never going to watch that and not give a red. Regardless if he “intended” to or not. Messi should have been a red too, refs have been inconsistent all tournament. I’m not in any way happy that it was a red, it sucks, he’s our biggest threat, we need him. But when a ref watches that, that’s gonna be a red regardless if intent was there or not. It’s basically the same thing as football, if a player hits another with “the crown of the helmet” even if he wasn’t meaning to, he’s still gonna be ejected.
Just a pathetic performance from @FSUBaseball to end the season. Host your own regional and go 0-2 vs the 4 seed. Hats off to St. John’s. That team grinded.
A pathetic weekend. Truly pathetic. Link, Posey, and Megahee have done an incredible disservice to the school and FSU community. If y’all had any morals you’d void your contracts. What are y’all even getting paid to do? Cause it sure as shit ain’t developing players and winning games
