The 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
Today we welcomed nine new technicians to our workforce as part of the Technician Apprenticeship Pilot Programme.
The programme will see the apprentices undertake paid employment at the university while also attending @bfastmet to complete an NVQ Level 3 qualification. The technicians will then be offered permanent employment in a more senior role.
