Meeting with a Delegation from TikTok

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting a delegation from TikTok, led by their Director of Communication, at the Ministry Headquarters.

Kenya continues to be a global leader in TikTok usage, accounting for 54% in 2023. This platform has created immense opportunities for Kenyan content creators to monetize their creativity and reach global audiences.

However, it is crucial that @MoICTKenya and TikTok continue exploring ways to enhance collaborations, ensuring that Kenyan creators earn competitively on the platform, just like their counterparts in other countries.

Technology as an Equaliser: Engaging with the Nairobi Association of the Deaf

Kenya is home to approximately 2.75 million deaf persons, who are an integral part of our society. Yet, they continue to face significant challenges in navigating daily life.

This afternoon, I met with a delegation from the Nairobi Association of the Deaf at the Ministry Headquarters. Our discussions focused on how @MoICTKenya can further support the Association and leverage technology to bridge gaps, break barriers, and create a more inclusive society.

Technology has the power to enrich lives and ensure that every deaf person in Kenya has the opportunity to thrive. We remain committed to driving innovation that empowers persons with disabilities.
