The visit featured strategic discussions on the Tribal Health Observatory initiative, interactions with scientists, and a review of CSIR-NBRI’s research facilities. The delegation also assessed the institute’s 65-acre Botanical Garden, home to over 6,000 plant species, and explored opportunities to conserve medicinal plants in tribal hotspots through scientific techniques such as tissue culture, community seed banks, and cryopreservation.
Such collaborations are helping strengthen the documentation, conservation, and promotion of traditional tribal healing knowledge through science-based approaches.
