JUST IN: Telecom Namibia has announced the start of a strategic transformation and repositioning programme aimed at modernising its operations, improving customer experience and restoring confidence in the state-owned telecommunications operator following months of service disruptions and mounting customer complaints.
The company says the initiative forms part of a broader effort to reposition Telecom Namibia for long-term sustainability in an increasingly competitive telecommunications market, while accelerating digital transformation and network modernisation.
The transformation programme comes at a pivotal time for the company, which has faced criticism over recurring network outages, slow internet speeds and ageing infrastructure.
Telecom Namibia recently acknowledged that service interruptions experienced across the country were linked to ageing equipment, hardware failures, unstable international connectivity routes, as well as widespread copper theft and vandalism.
The Global Water Partnership Organization says it aims to mobilise up to N$246 billion (US$15 billion) in global water investments from its new headquarters in Windhoek, as the intergovernmental organisation prepares to officially begin operations in Namibia later this month.
Speaking during a technical visit to finalise the relocation process from Stockholm, Sweden, GWP Chief Executive Officer Alex Simalawi said Namibia was selected to host the organisation’s headquarters because of its demonstrated leadership in water management, climate resilience and governance.
“As an organisation, under our 2025 to 2026 strategy, we aim to mobilise up to US$15 billion in water investments, and we are going to do that very closely in partnership with the government of Namibia and other countries,” he said.
The organisation, which was established in 1996 by the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme and the Government of Sweden, focuses on supporting governments in addressing water challenges through Integrated Water Resources Management.

AI can answer questions, but only humans can answer feelings.
In customer service, empathy is still the currency of loyalty.

Using AI doesn’t have to make us dumber.
Evidence: AI boosts service rep productivity and customer satisfaction. Even during AI outages, those who use it regularly are more effective.
Outsourcing thinking to AI yields cognitive debt. Learning from AI pays cognitive dividends.

ICYMI: The best leaders know customer service isn't a department, it's a culture. I saw one company prove it beyond question, and it reaffirmed everything I believe about real leadership. https://t.co/ExKZUfxo1X

@AdamMGrant AI can help with edits and ideas.
But the heavy lifting needs to be on us.
Plus it doesn't have a clue about our core beliefs and memories.
It’s a mistake to outsource most writing to AI.
Even if the output is accurate and engaging, something valuable is lost in the process. Jotting down intuitions and spelling out hunches is how we develop and refine our ideas.
Writing is where we do our best thinking.
Such a Wise Insight.
Some of the most meaningful breakthroughs in an organization happen when we learn how to disagree well—with respect, candor, and a mindset of growth.
Instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me or my team?”, what if we asked,
“What can I learn from this situation?”
Approaching conflict with curiosity rather than defensiveness opens the door to innovation, stronger collaboration, and real progress. #growthmindset #excellence #discovergreatness
