@TheGhostSleepi1 face to face with those who will dispute with him the possession of his native land.” So as with a lot of other things he was spot on before most had even realised what was happening.
@TheGhostSleepi1 This is nonsense and wrongly implies he had some sort of hang up about black people. In his book ‘Still to Decide’ he said “our towns and cities are being transformed not by the Caribbean but by Asia…it is more truly when he looks into the eye of Asia that the Englishman comes
@dieworkwear I wonder if it has something to do with the fact he’s not a ‘conservative’ or ‘right-wing’ figure? Your posts have become increasingly partisan and tendentious which is a shame as you obviously know a lot about classic menswear.
@dieworkwear Odd you praise his shirt collar and knot but fail to critique his choice to match a button down collar (relatively informal) with a black neck tie and suit, a highly formal combination rarely seen outside funerals. This doesn’t, as you are often apt to point out, ‘make sense’.
@HookArron76532@Albrochier Very true. I have some books he wrote about religion and he had some fascinating things to say about religion, particularly how it intersected with politics and morality.
@ForfarshireUK@Albrochier@HookArron76532 I’m not sure that’s true. The upshot of his outspokenness on immigration was that it gave him an unrivalled freedom to speak and write about the things he felt mattered but which perhaps were not the issues dominating the news headlines of the day.
@AaronBastani@nicolelampert Aaron, I thought you were one of the more thoughtful commentators on the left but your recent content has me questioning my judgement. Polanski’s response is not only pure ad hominem but also gratuitously rude. The sort of puerile response you’d expect from some anon account
@Helix_mint@DebateOnFacts@linmeitalks@SamanthaTaghoy For the sake of clarity, he would have been better off using the present continuous tense to say ‘I’m the only Jewish person leading a political party’ as it is an ongoing action i.e. he currently leads the party.
@Helix_mint@DebateOnFacts@linmeitalks@SamanthaTaghoy Technically ‘to lead’ is the infinitive form of the verb which is probably where the confusion arises. Whilst technically it is the present infinitive, if I was to say ‘I’m the only man to swim the channel’ most people would reasonably interpret that as only man ever to do so.
